Jace's POV

"Move and I'll shoot her!" The woman from the raid days ago shouted.

She had Alleyah at gun point and was threatening to shoot her if I didn't surrender. Alleyah was crying and begging for her life.

"Surrender now Jace! It'll do a lot of people good." She warned.

"What do I look like? I ain't stupid!" I shouted.

She stared at me as if not believing her ears. "You're willing to sacrifice her to save yourself?" She asked in disbelief.

"Alright! Have it your way, but just know you'll live to regret it." She said in frustration.

Before I could react she pulled the trigger and Alleyah fell to the floor. I ran over to her pushing the gun from the woman's hand.

"You bitch!" I shouted picking up her gun from the ground.

"Jace! Jace you awake!? There's someone to you at the door."

My eyes fluttered open. I turned on my side and yawned.

"Alleyah!?"

"Yeah, it's me. Sorry if I woke you, but someone's at the door."

"At the door!?"

"Yeah, he said his name is Toni."

"Aite! I'll be out in a minute." I said yawning.

I hurried out of bed and walked to the bathroom to get ready. I didn't plan on going anywhere that day. I'd planned to stay home, process everything, and make plans to move the crib to another location.

I walked downstairs slowly processing the weird dream I had earlier. It was odd to me because I did many bad things throughout my life and not once did I have nightmares about them.

When I got to the bottom of the stairs I saw Alleyah on the couch watching something on the TV.

"Morning."

"Morning!? It's 2pm." She chuckled.

I stared at her not believing. She pointed to the built in clock on the wall above the tv.

"Wow! I've never slept in this long before." I said confused.

She shrugged then smiled.

I walked over to the door and opened it. Toni stood behind it staring at me. I was squinting my eyes because the sun was up and the rays were blinding. Normally Toni would've just barged in, but this time he waited outside. I knew why he did this. He knew Alleyah didn't know him well and he didn't want to make her uncomfortable, knowing her situation and all.

"Wassup man!?" He said coming close to hug me.

"I'm good dawg!"

I let him in then closed the door.

"You made sure you weren't followed right?"

"I was. I had to shoo-"

He tilted his head to look over my shoulder and saw Alleyah then stopped talking.

"Why didn't you tell me she  was sitting right there!?" He whispered.

"Don't worry about it she didn't hear you." I said leading him into the sitting room. Alleyah stared at us as we walked in. She stared at Toni then at me. His tattoos weren't covered like the last time. They were all visible. Allleyah looked as if she was processing her thoughts. Unlike me Toni had many tattoos, looked and acted like he was bad news. I knew seeing him this way would make her start to wonder about me and what I did, something I didn't want.
