Your POV~

It took a lot of courage to get out of bed, get ready for school, and walk there. I was really nervous for after school today with Nathaniel. As I stepped into the school, I decided to let my anxiety go. It would be fine- we were best friends, we were hanging out. I smiled and kept walking. Then, I noticed Marinette and Chloe across the large indoor plaza. I couldn't hear them very well, but it was obvious that they were yelling at each other. Sabrina was standing anxiously behind Chloe, and Alya was nowhere to be seen.

As I walked closer, I heard Marinette yell,

"You're just a self absorbed brat who only cares about herself!" Then she stormed off angrily. I have no idea why, but I walked up to Chloe and asked her what happened. She raised an eyebrow skeptically, but I could tell she was upset at whatever happened.

"Why would you care? You're a nobody!" She said rudely. But I kept going, despite what my head told me.

"Well, I'm not very fond of Marinette either, and you seem upset… so I was just curious if I could help or something. I dunno." I answered, barely in control of the words coming out of my mouth. Chloe raised her eyebrow again, and was actually silent. She seemed to be thinking.

Chloe's POV~

I thought about how rude Dupain-Cheng was, and how I really could use an Ally. Besides Sabrina. This girl- I couldn't remember her name- seemed like a good candidate. She didn't like annoying baker-girl either, which was very good to know, since basically all the other creatures in my classes thought she was all that and a box of macaroons. I decided it would be fantastically nice of me to invite Miss Nobody to sit with me and Sabrina at lunch; Adrien would see what an angel I am! Inviting a sad lonely girl to sit with me, how smart! This was a win-win situation, because I would also likely get some juicy gossip about Blueberry-Head and her ladyblogger friend Ally or whatever. So I thought of how I would suggest lunch to this girl, in a way that was sweet and appealing: revenge on Dupain-Cheng.

Your POV~

I stood there awkwardly, waiting for her to respond. Sabrina smiled at me and waved. I returned both gestures. More awkward silence. I opened my mouth to ask if she was okay when she finally responded.

"Okay then. I have an idea- what if you sit with us at lunch today, and we can discuss a plan. Like, a revenge plan." Chloe suggested. I was totally shocked that she had just invited me to lunch. Basically. She probably thought I would be a good ally against Marinette, and I suppose I thought the same.

Flashback:

"Y/n! What the heck! I thought we were friends!" Marinette yelled.

"What? We are! What are you talking about?!" I was shocked, and confused. Adrien had just gotten up from the bench next to me because Nino had summoned him. We had been chatting, nothing more.

"I totally saw how you looked at Adrien! You know how much I like him, how could you flirt with him like that?!" She replied, getting angry. It made me angry too.

"Dude, you're being crazy jealous! We were just talking, and you and Alya both know I don't like him!" I defended, still in shock. I was on the verge of tears. "You guys are supposed to be my best friends, why would you just attack me like this?"

"Because you're a backstabbing liar!" Marinette was almost crying too. She was having some serious problems.

"That's it. I wasn't flirting with him, I don't like him in that way. If you can't see that because you're so jealous, I can't be friends with you." I picked up my bag and walked away. I slipped into the nearest bathroom and cried. I noticed a purple and black butterfly fly into the room, and immediately pulled myself together. No way was I going to get akumatized. Not today. It would just prove how weak I was. I couldn't be seen anymore. I couldn't trust anyone anymore.

"Hello?" Chloe snapped her fingers in my face.

"Oh! Sorry, I was just remembering the fight that I had with Marinette."

"More to discuss at lunch, goody." She had a trace of an evil grin on her face. I didn't know if it was a good idea, but I then replied with "Yeah! Thanks, see ya!" And headed to class.

I think I may have just made a new friend! I thought, unsure. Two new friends, I thought of Sabrina, smiling at me the whole time. She seemed really nice. If she stuck around with Chloe all the time, Chloe couldn't be that bad.

"Whassup?" Someone asked, nudging me in the shoulder.

"Hm?" I turned my head to see a grinning Nathaniel. "Oh, Hi! Just walking to math." I said casually. I had a lot more confidence after my successful conversation with Chloe.

"So early? There's still like, 10 minutes until the bell rings, and then 5 more until class actually starts."

"Oh! Wait really? Huh." I stopped walking and found a bench and sat down. "I thought it was a lot later."

"So why do you seem so… happy? You seem a lot less shy." He mentioned. I blushed a little, and chuckled.

"You won't believe it. And you might not like it." I said.

"Uh-oh. What did you do?" He teased.

"Welllll, I saw Marinette and Chloe fighting, right?" He nodded.

"Marinette called Chloe self-absorbed, and stormed off, and I don't know why, but then I walked up to Chloe and asked her what happened. She didn't tell me, but she did invite me to sit with her at lunch today. Which was like, so freaking weird."

Nathaniel has his eyebrow raised, just like she had earlier.

"She's probably plotting something, y/n. I normally wouldn't recommend hanging out with her, but I think you should sit with her today and find out more. Like about her plan, and Marinette." He suggested.

"Good idea. Wait, aren't you still friends with Marinette?" I asked. When we first got to be friends, I told him about my fight with her and our former friendship, but I told him I didn't care if he was still her friend. I didn't want to seem clingy or jealous like Marinette, and I wasn't going to stop him from being friends with someone else.

"Yeah, but not like super good friends or anything. I'm just saying, it might be good to see the other side of things. Hardly anyone knows what's going on in Chloe's head, so it's good you're getting perspective. I'll talk to Marinette about it and maybe we can piece stuff together."

"Yeah! Like detectives kind of. But, Nathaniel, I hope you don't mind..." I trailed off.

"What?" He asked.

"I thought maybe I could be friends with her and Sabrina, if they aren't so bad. I know Chloe's been mean to you, but maybe she can change, maybe I can talk to her about you, and-"

"Y/n! I would never stop you from being friends with someone else; exactly the way you don't mind me being friends with Marinette, I won't mind you being friends with Chloe. Got it?" He said sweetly. I nodded and smiled.

"Thanks, Nathaniel." He grinned and turned a bit red, although it might have just been a reflection of his cute red hair as he looked down a bit.

The bell rang.

"Now you can go to math class," he laughed. I stood up and waved.

"See ya in English class!" I called, walking away.

"See ya!"
