Hannah

I told Caleb a few days ago and I've been avoiding him since. He has called and  texted a million times. He's even called Emily a few times.

"Hannah! Wake up, time for school!" My mom yells into my room.

"I'm up!" I call back. I throw on some leggings and an oversized hoodie which happens to belong to Caleb. I toss my hair into a messy bun and slide my vans on.

"You look like shit." Henry says when I walk downstairs.

"Thanks asshole." I grab a piece of toast off of his plate before walking to the front door.

"You're not riding with me?" Hayden sounds confused behind me.

"Nah, I'm walking today." I walk out the front door after throwing up a peace sign at my siblings. Me and Hayden are seniors, Henry is a sophomore and Haley is in 8th grade. So we all go to the same school except Haley. As I'm walking, I put my headphones on and prepare for this long 20 minute walk alone.

When I get to school, I see Caleb hanging out at the front doors with his friends, not including Hayden cause he's always late. We make eye contact and I look down, walking faster past him. Once I get inside I head to the closest bathroom I can find. I barely get there in time before throwing up the toast I just ate. I feel a hand on my back. I turn around and it's Emily. I start crying and he pulls me into a hug.

"Em I can't do this." I sob into her chest.

"Talk to him." She pets my hair.

"I-I can't." I hug her tighter.

"Yes you can. He's right outside, he misses you Han. He needs you." She says gently.

At lunch

I'm sitting at my lunch table alone since I'm the first one there when I feel someone sit next to me.

"Hey" I assume it's Emily so I don't even turn around.

"Hey." It's Caleb. I turn to look at him and he looks so upset and worried.

"Before you run away please talk to me." He grabs my hand gently but hard enough for me to not leave.

"About what?" I look down.

"You know what." He says quietly enough that only I hear him.

"Not here. Hayden could see us." I look around.

"Meet me somewhere. I packed food for both of us so we can go eat somewhere." He holds up the two bags.

"Normal spot." I stand up, leaving him there. I go out to the shed by the football field that we normally eat behind. Once I get there i see the blanket that we left there last week.

"You actually came?" His voice comes from behind me, sounding surprised.

"I'm tired of running from you." I turn around and see him standing there. He looks happy and sad at the same time.

"Then stop. You never had to run." He takes a few steps towards me and pulls em against his chest.

"I'm scared." I feel the tears starting.

"I know you are, but we can't run from this forever." He mumbles into my hair.

"I don't want to tell anyone yet." I bury my face into his chest.

"We should start by telling people we're dating instead of hiding from the world." He says quietly. I just nod.

"Let's start with Hayden." I say after a few minutes of silence.

"Are you sure?" He pulls away to look at me.

"Yeah." I nod.

After school

I'm at home pacing in my room with Caleb sitting on my bed.

"Babe, it'll be fine. He can't get that mad." He reaches for my hand.

"Or he could kill both of us." I glare at him.

"I doubt he would kill us." He rolls his eyes.

"You underestimate him." I hear loud footsteps going up the stairs and towards Hayden's room, which is next to mine.

"Let me go first." I hold my hand out to stop him from getting up.

"Be safe." He smirks at me as I walk out of my door and over to Hayden's.

"Hey?" I knock on his door before opening it.

"Yeah?" He looks over at his door, where I'm standing nervously playing with my hoodie strings.

"Can I talk to you?" I chew on the inside of my cheek.

"Yeah of course. What's going on?" He looks concerned.

"Remember how a few days ago you said something was off with me..?" I mumble off.

"Yeah..?" He says slowly.

"There's something I want to tell you but I don't know how you'll take it." I avoid eye contact.

"Go ahead." He faces me.

"I've been seeing someone.." I look in his direction.

"I know." He chuckles.

"What?" I look at him.

"You think I don't know my best friend's hoodies, or his cologne, or his truck that picks you up everyday, or event hat you both disappear from lunch everyday?" He laughs.
