The five hours it took to fix the mess at his job seemed like the longest Eddie ever had to endure. It also hadn't help that Venom had been a snarling mess the entire time. Snapping at Eddie whenever being asked what the matter was to the point that he just stopped asking and hunkered down and focused on his work. On his way back to his apartment he may have broken a few laws along the way. As well as being honked at and flipped the bird by multiple people. It took all of ten seconds to park his motorcycle and then he was pounding up the stairs to his apartment. Heart hammering in his chest he unlocked the door and went to step inside when Venom suddenly growled out. "Something's not right..."
Dread suckered punched him in the gut and made a home for itself in his stomach as he stepped into his apartment. Everything looked fine except the refrigerator door was still open. Walking over to it he then closed the door and turned to head towards his bedroom and felt his anger reach a raging boil. On the wall a message written in what looked to be blood read. "Thanks for the new toy Venom, if you want her back, come and find us that is if there is anything left once I'm done with her." Scrawled underneath it was a name that Eddie thought he would never see again. While Carnage was a pain in the ass to deal with on an almost a daily basis, Scream was about ten times worse than him.
Knowing that she had gotten ahold of Lauren had him seeing red. Venom was absolutely beside himself and was currently in the process of giving Eddie a severe migraine with his thrashing about. Having enough, he readily handed over control to Venom and grimaced as Venom roared out his frustrations up at the ceiling. Chest heaving, he then growled out. "When I find that crazy bitch I'm going to make it so that there's nothing left of her to regenerate from." Lauren felt like she was floating on a cloud but that ended as something slapped her hard on the face. Her eyes snapped open and she let out a frightened scream as she found herself face to face with the woman from yesterday.
Those blue eyes shown with humor in their depths as they took in Lauren's fear. She then purred out huskily. "I thought you were never going to wake up sweetness, so I had to improvise." Cheek stinging from getting smacked Lauren floundered for a response for several seconds before finally, she managed to rasp out. "Where the hell am I?" The woman grinned sweetly down at her and responded back nonchalantly. "Not telling, but what I will tell you is that Venom will never find this place in time to save you human." A shiver of dread went down Lauren's spine at that and without giving it too much thought she started bucking and thrashing about in an attempt to get herself free.
Barking out a laugh the woman easily subdued Lauren within moments and had her pinned beneath her. Leaning forward she then whispers in her ear. "You'll have to put up more of a fight than that sweetheart if you hope to get free from us." As Lauren started to let out a retort she felt the woman start to transform and muttered several foul curses under her breath as the monster known as Scream wrapped a clawed hand around her throat and squeezed. Panic immediately set in as Lauren tried and failed to take in a breath. Renewing her struggles she somehow managed to free one of her hands and dug her nails into Scream's hand around her throat earning her an annoyed growl.
To Lauren's dismay, all that seemed to do was goad her to tighten her grip. Shadows gathered at the edges of her sight and she could feel her strength draining away little by little. As the darkness started to pull her under the grip around her throat loosened just enough so that she could suck in a lungful of air. Scream then hissed out harshly. "It would be no fun to kill you yet human, plus you've only just begun to whet our appetite." Lauren opened her mouth to say something but all that came out was a choked gasp as the grip around her throat tightened back up. She willed herself to relax as a claw brushed itself up against her jugular and then manages to rasp out weakly. "You're wasting your time with me, Venom only sees me as a plaything for his sexual urges he won't come looking for me."
Scream let out an undignified snort at that then stated tartly. "That's not what Carnage told me, he said that Venom had his eyes on you the entire time that they fought." Fear burned white-hot through her veins as she remembered the red and black monster that still haunted her dreams at times. The madness that she had seen in those large white eyes made her shudder. Lauren let out a frightened shriek as Scream suddenly flipped her over onto her back. The knowing grin on her face spread those red lips wide revealing a mouthful of razor-sharp fangs. She then put herself nose to nose with Lauren and purred. "You can deny the truth all you want sweetheart, but I've known Venom for a long, long, long time and know that he will search high and low for you until he succeeds in finding you."
Venom leaped from rooftop to rooftop hoping to catch Lauren's scent but so far he had been unsuccessful. A frustrated growl rumbled in his chest as he glared down at the people below. It would be so easy for him to kill every single one of them until he gorged himself on their blood. Muscles bunching he went to leap down there to do just that when Eddie gave him a mental slap upside the head. He then hisses at him vehemently. "Get a grip V, I'm having just as hard of a time as you are but we need to focus on finding Lauren!" Taking in several deep breaths in an attempt to get himself to calm down Venom then rumbles back at him. "I know, I know but when all I can smell is fast food, human feces and car exhaust it makes it a little difficult to pick up her scent."
They both wanted Lauren back by their side whole and unharmed but Scream had a chip on her shoulder for the two of them and knew she would make Lauren suffer before finally putting her out of her misery. Shaking his head in an attempt to clear the thoughts of finding her dead somewhere in the city he then started up again leaping rooftop to rooftop. Ignoring every attempt Eddie tried talking to him and just focused on finding the woman who had stolen both of their hearts in a short amount of time. No matter what it took he would find her and never let go.
