*Jane's PoV*

I felt surprisingly good. I woke up feeling extremely comfortable. The bed, or whatever I was in, was soft and the sheets smelled of something I couldn't quite place but was a bit familiar with the smell was also quite pleasant,

well and then everything hit me again as if someone threw a ton of bricks against my head.
I suddenly felt like I could pass out again.

Everything that had happened flooded back into my thoughts,
my encounter with the Alpha and me being almost held captive and...my mate.

"Why must this happen to me? I end up on a werewolf pack's territory
not that this is already bad enough
but I also just have to surprisingly find a mate?
Me?
Why me?
Why do I always have to get into more trouble?", I thought to myself.

I was such an idiot.
I should have been more cautious about where I was going.
I should have gotten a bit more rest. I was regretting all my decisions now. But it could be worse, at least I was not in a cell.

I suddenly panicked. Where was I exactly? I looked at my surroundings.

It seemed like I was in a room of a wooden cabin. I laid on a bed in the middle of the room. There were two connecting doors to the room. One probably led to a bathroom and the other maybe led to a hallway.

Maybe I could just sneek out.

I was startled by a soft snore coming from the room.

There he was, sleeping on a sofa,
my mate.
I had only cought a glimpse of him before my vision had turned black. This time he was fully clothed He was handsome, I couldn't deny it.
Looking very peaceful while he was asleep.

But I couldn't pass on the opened opportunity, he was sleeping, he wouldn't notice if I would just quickly sneek out.

I wasn't sure but maybe I had gained enough power to make myself invisible for a few minutes.
So I could get out of territory while remaining unnoticed.

But my heart didn't seem to want to go. I could understand. He was my one true love. Destined to be with me but I couldn't possible stay here and endanger all of the wolves.

As far as I knew a war could break out again if they got ahold of me.

My shoes were beside the bed. I quietly tied them on.

A noise came from a door opening and after that the sound of someone coming upstairs.

I was surprised. Why would someone come in now?

Then the door opened.

A woman in workout clothes, sweaty, a cut on her cheek, with striking resemblance to the man sleeping on the couch, stepped in.

"Hey bro! I brought the clothes..", she said but then suddenly stopped, as she saw me just standing there.

"Hot damn, you look even better awake if you weren't my brother's mate I would definitely do you.", she grinned.

I had to laugh.
"Well, me too, you're extremely hot.", I winked at her. I wasn't lying, me being as bisexual as they come was very impressed by the hotness of the two siblings.

She smiled.
"Thank you! What a surprise that my idiot of a brother could get such a good shot. I'm Ellie by the way, the sister of sleeping beauty over there on the couch. And I come bearing clothes."

"Well, thanks I guess I would say it wasn't necessary but I guess it kind of was.", I grinned a bit.

"Yeah, no need to thank me.", Ellie bowed slightly.

The scratch on her cheek was kind of annoying me. I had worked as a nurse at a point before I was on the run.

"You need help with that scratch?", I just had to ask.

"Err..what?", she asked confused before noticing her bleeding cheek.
"Ah..oh, yeah I guess, I mean it would be all healed up in a hour but a bit cleaning wouldn't hurt I guess."

I sat her on the bed. Going to the door of which I assumed it would lead to a bathroom.
After I opened the door I had been proven right, it was a bathroom.

I searched the cabinets for some antiseptic and a towel. After some searching I found what I looked for.
I wet the towel and returned to the bedroom.

I wiped the excess blood off of her cheek and put the antiseptic on afterwards.

"No plaster?", Ellie asked.

"No, it's better to just let the blood dry, it doesn't bleed anymore anyways, so a plaster would be pretty useless unless you scratch at your wounds.", I answered.

She looked impressed. "You know your stuff, huh?"

"Yeah it's bound to happen when you worked as a nurse", I smiled and shrugged.

A second voice tuned in.
"Should I be jealous of my own sister?"

He nearly gave me a heart attack. Stupid mate just sneaking up on people and scaring them.

He seemed to notice my fright because he was frowning and apologising instantly.

"Ow..shit I'm so sorry I didn't mean to scare you."

"Er..it's okay I guess?", I answered.
He looked pretty guilty.

"Bro, your mate is a damn keeper, knows how to to treat someone right, not like someone I know, sleeping beauty.", she took a jab at her brother.

He was scowling instantly, the accusation of him not treating his mate well enough, not sitting well with him.

He was probably going to defend his pride but Ellie was already out of the room. Laughing all the way out of the house.

"I guess we should start off at a new start. The first encounter kind of didn't start off too well.", he said a bit awkwardly after we were standing facing each other for a few minutes in silence.

*Author's Note*

And...that's a wrap!
Yeah I would have written a bit more but I think 950 words were enough and I kind of wanted to post the chapter sooner than later. So yeah I'm sorry that I ended this chapter at this inconvenient moment...
