*Jane's PoV*

I woke up again on the same bed as last time in the same room.
Also finding my mate sleeping on the couch again.

If that wasn't déjà vu then I didn't know what was.

It was a perfect opportunity- again.
I could easily sneek out without waking him.

It seemed like it was still very early in the morning and I hoped that there weren't many people around.

I got up and tied my shoes on again but this time I wasn't disturbed by someone coming into the room, thankfully.

I was about to go out when I suddenly stopped.

I didn't want to leave him, I realized.

My heart was bound to him afterall and the bond must have gotten stronger since yesterday.

Did I want to make us both unhappy? Break our hearts?
Make us feel miserable till the end of our lives?

No I didn't want to.

But I didn't have a choice.
I wouldn't let them find me.

At this moment I realized that our relationship had been doomed from the beginning.

The tears were already tumbling down my cheek. I gave my mate one last look.
"Goodbye. Farewell, my love", I whispered.

I turned my back on him, opened the door and quietely went down the stairs.

Outside the cabin I was relieved that I was so close to the woods.
I took a deep breath and ran as fast as I could away from my mate.

Well I wanted to until I saw a certain someone on a walk- again.

I stopped, wanting to make me invisible but his instincts were to good, he had seen me again.

He growled lowly.

I was frozen in my tracks, still visible.

The Alpha was stalking at me again.

And now after about 20 seconds my brain decided to let me be invisible.

At first the Alpha seemed to be a bit confused but then decided that he had really seen me.

"I can still smell you.", he growled.

I made myself visible again.

"Not creepy at all.", I muttered, dammit I couldn't keep my mouth shut again.

He let out a laugh.

I was surprised.
I didn't think that he of all people would have some kind of humour.

"Well what in the world are you doing here? Why aren't you with Lucas?"
He raised a brow at me.

"It's quite complicated.", I answered vaguely.

"Most things in life are.", he shrugged, a sad smile on his face.

"You must have gotten experience.", I looked up at him. He must have faced some very dark times too.

"Hasn't everybody?", he sounded bitter, "you're really good at avoiding questions.
I want to know what you are doing here at 5 o' clock in the morning and why you are leaving Lucas.", the Alpha asked again as stern as ever.

"Why do I have to live everything trough twice?!
Meeting the Alpha in the woods, trying to leave to make the least damage as possible,
being stopped and then being questioned and being told that I'm avoiding their questions!" I had no idea why I had suddenly blurted this much information.

But he smiled in understanding.
He smiled!

"That really seems a bit much.
I would advise you to sit down and tell uncle Jacob your problems and we may find a better solution than running away.", he talked very soothingly.

Something I had needed since months just someone that would listen but I couldn't just tell him could I?
The last time we met he wanted to put me in a cell.

He must have noticed my torn look and my confusion.

"I have made the worst decisions while being alone and keeping everything inside my head if someone would have been there for me to just listen, well then I wouldn't be as miserable as I am now."

"Why the hell do you trust me? Last time we met you wanted to take me as a prisoner."

"If you're able to make yourself invisible then you must be able to do quite a lot of other powerful spells and since you haven't killed me nor cursed me I don't think I have to worry."

"We are not allowed to use magic ouside of our kind so cursing you would have validated that rule. There are many other strict rules we follow. Many of us don't want a second war, myself included."

"You made yourself invisible."

"Well I was always quite the rebel..", I shot him a cheeky grin.
"But I don't curse people."

"Then I don't have to worry. Now tell."

"Well, it's complicated...and well I kind of don't know were to begin nor do I want to tell you..really it means danger- a lot of it.
But I think I owe my mate an explanation, even if it is the short version.
So I want to tell you two. It may not be everything but I'm sure that I wouldn't even be capable right now to tell you everything.
Could I explain it later? I'll stay here for the meantime and we'll search for a solution afterwards?"

"Oh, no need. Lucas is coming this way already.", the Alpha said with a kind of mean grin...I should've known that he had sadistic tendencies.
Had he told my mate?

I was in deep trouble- as always nowadays. It just seemed to follow my every step.

Lucas was fast approaching I could feel it. His presence getting stronger and stronger.

He was running while looking very angry and hurt.

I felt a pang in my chest it hurt to see him like this.

He was standing right before me fuming. It was only a matter of seconds till he would lose his temper.

"What are you doing here?", he said surprisingly calm considering how he looked right now.

Being honest was the safest choice right now.

"I was trying to run away.", I looked down feeling a rush of guilt rolling over me.

"Why would you do that!", his eyes had now turned black. He wasn't that calm anynore. His inner wolf fighting for control.

"I don't have a choice! I can't be responsible for a war! If I could I would have never left you but trouble is always surrounding me and I don't want you involved in the mess I got into!", I cried out desperately.

He stepped towards me. I was scared. What was ge going to do?

But he just pulled me into his embrace and nuzzled his face into the crook of my neck.

I was in a bit of a shock I hadn't expected that at all.

After a few seconds I relaxed and let his welcoming warmth and the soft sparks overtake me.

"You know it would break both our hearts if you'd leave?", he whispered softly, "you do feel the sparks too, do you want to lose that?"

"No", I answered breathlessly.

"So tell me what the problem is that won't let you stay here.", Lucas asked with a sad expression.

I saw the Alpha shooting me a thumbs up before he quitely left the forest leaving me alone with my mate.
