Andy POV

I watch as the cars in Parking lot moved into better places, leaving our aid car alone in the lot. I had a bad feeling about this, something in my gut told me this was not a normal stakeout and they would not simply be able to catch the bad guy like in movies.

That feeling only worsened as minutes pasted and the screen on the live feed went black. I turned to Maya seeing the panic drawn over her face as the first gunshot rang. each one following the last, seemingly loader as the voice inside my head told me there was no way everyone was going to be okay.

It was like Maya could read my mind. Saying exactly what I needed to hear, "Ryans Okay'' she said, but maybe it was really just what she wanted to be true.

we sat in silence as the sounds of gunshots rang through the air. Neither of us talking because speaking felt disrespectful knowing that someone could be bleeding out as we waited to be told it was safe to come to save them.

After five minutes passed I decided I'd had enough, "he" I quivered "they could bleed out before we could get in to save them" I said trying to tell myself Ryan was Okay.

"I know" she answered not even trying to talk me out of the idea we both know was running thought my mind. I reached for the door, watching my handshake as it reaches the handle.

"Andy, we can't" Maya started

"he would for us, I have to try," I said, stepping out of the aid car. I heard Maya open her door and run toward me. she had the red bag of medical supplies over her shoulder something I had completely forgotten.

"if you're going, I'm going. we stick together just like a fire" Maya said

"Okay," I answered not knowing it might be the last thing we ever said to each other.
