This is possibly the support I need when even the smallest things go wrong. Whoever Tom is, he's the person who makes me calm.

Right now my mom is checking out Carolina's ankle and wrapping it, as I sit in the chair beside them. It's quite for a night in the ER that is until Lydia  basically rips the curtain open.

"Oh my gosh Car are you okay? What happened?" Lydia basically jumps over me to Carolina's side.

"I'm fine Lydia thanks to my big brother." Carolina snorts in an angry manner.

"I'm your sister, as far as you know Harry is your cousin who you live with. I'm so sick and tired of you being rude to me when you have no idea what the truth is. I stayed living with Nan for your benefit." Lydia
shrieks tears forming in her eyes as she leaves as quickly as she came.

I get out of my chair and follow her as she runs to the exit, once she reaches the curb she drops down sitting with her head in her hands, her shoulders shaking. I sit beside her and wrap my arms around her.

"I'm sorry Harry. I'm so sorry. I couldn't keep lying just to make her happy. I was dying inside slowly every time she rolled her eyes at me." She mumbles into my sweater.

"What are you talking about Lyd?" I ask confused as to what she means.

"You really wanna know?" She hiccups.

I say yes, and begin to stroke her hair to comfort her.

"Harry, I'm your sister and so is Carolina. "Uncle Des" knocked up my mom and only gave her cash to support me. Once Carolina came along he decided to abandon us completely, leaving my mom confused and heartbroken. My mom went to Nan three months later and told her what had happened and that she need help. Remember when your dad left you? Yea, he left us too. Nan figured it would be easier to say Uncle Dave was my dad and that he'd been dating my mom while in and out of the navy. When my mom passed I was 14 and there was the note disclosing the truth. When Anne offered to take us off of Nan's hands I felt disgusting and decided that Carolina deserved happiness, so I stayed behind." She stops talking and the loud sobs erupt.
