Chapter 9

"You guys, we're about to drop!" Tony exclaimed.
We were all separated into our teams and were parachuted up, well those of us who needed one were. Along with our suits, we had tiny microphones that recorded everything we said to analyze after the takedown.

"Okay so, how do you do this?" I say through a nervous and shaky exhale.

"We're just gonna jump, and then as soon as you can tell the difference between a tree the one next to it, open up your parachute. If you don't, you'll be holding on to me anyways so you'll be fine." Nat says, turning me towards her.

"What do you mean I'll be holding onto you?" I ask, as she fumbles with the buckles on her pack.

"Well, we'll be latched together since it's your first time." She says pulling me close to her body. Her hands slip between us, fastening is together.

"Are you okay?" She asked, her strawberry scented breath fanning across my red face.

"Yes, I'm fine, just a little nervous. All I have to do is jump with you, right?" I ask, locking eyes with Steve behind her.

"Yep, just go with the flow." She says, wrapping her arms around my waist. I push a stray strand of hair behind her ear and we move towards the door. As soon as it opens, we need to fall.

"Alright were jumping in 3..2..1"

We land on the ground, not so gracefully because of me. Nat landed standing up, like some sort of goddess, but I in the other hand lost my balance, causing us to both fall. We land with Nat on top of me, and I let out a small groan of pain and surprise. Nat laughed as she reached between us and unfastened our latches.

"Need some help up?" She asked, extending her hand to my reach.

"Yes please" I laugh, grabbing it and standing up. I shake off the parachute and walk with Nat to our location. Our team was to infiltrate an area of the facility that was separated from the main building. We walked up and went in through the door, which creaked as it opened. I went in first, turning on the lights and seeing rooms with walls of glass sectioned off inside. Nat came in after me, and gasped at what she saw.

"There are glass rooms that look to be airtight filled with these beautiful lilac coloured chrysanthemums with yellow centers. They look like greenhouses, but the glass is clear. Maybe to allow observation to be easier. I wonder why Hydra would plant these, let alone contain them to cautiously." I say into my recording device. My attention turns to Nat, whose breath is shaky and heart is beating rapidly.

"You okay?" I ask, placing my hand on her arm gently.

"Yeah it's just... never mind. Let's secure this area." She replied with a sharp inhale.

"Okay." I say before walking of to examine each room.

"Hey Nat, Im gonna look inside each of these rooms, the flowers are really pretty and I want to make sure they aren't a weapon hiding area" I say before opening the seal and walking in to the room.

"Oh my god! No!" Nat exclaimed, after I had already entered. She covered her face and pulled me out of the room with force, before shutting the door and sealing it behind us. She pulled us to the entrance of the building and we stood there, catching our breath for a second before I turned to face her.

"What the hell was that?" I asked, confused and feeling slightly lightheaded.

"Those plants... those plants were in the red room facilities too. They sterilized all of us, but they wanted to test out if these plants would work and if the could sell them." She said, crossing her arms and clenching her fists tightly.

"What do they do?" I ask, now scared of its effects.

"Exposure to their pollen makes humans extremely horny, like they insatiable for a certain period of time. They're probably using them so that the super soldiers have to breed. I held my breath, but do you feel anything?"

"No, oh no, I don't feel anything like... that." I say, feeling blush creep across my face.

"Maybe their engineering is incorrect causing the flowers to not have an effect. Just to be sure, I'm not going to go in there. You've already been exposed and have felt nothing, so you'll have to go back in.
Burn the flowers in each room down to the roots and once your done, put the fires out. We want to alert as little attention to this area as possible. When your done with everything, I'll be standing here. We'll head to the ship once you meet back up with me."

"Okay" I say, heading back into the building.
