One thrust among another was enough for Marel to lose control.
"I love you so much." Peliz whispers into her ear as her back starts to arch.
Marel gasps a 'I love you' back before she's engulfed in complete bliss. She presses head back into the crimson pillows as she lets out a miniature satisfied breath.
"How was that my princess?" Peliz asks, kissing her forehead.
"I could do without the teasing, but I guess it was alright." Marel answers breathlessly as Peliz rolls his dark eyes.
"Well it defiantly looked like it was more than alright, you know, according to the way you kept moaning and -"
"Peliz! Stop!" She giggles. For a moment she stares into his dark eyes with admiration behind her own, taking a piece of a strayed black lock and guiding it behind his ear. Her hands then drop to his nubby chin and pleasantly graze the little hairs that forms a style over the better half of his dashing face. She didn't know where else she'd want to be right now. Everything was with him, the man she's loved for 3 years now.
But she knew she had other things to attend to. She imparts one last smile to him before rolling onto her other side, raising herself up fully, and pulling the bottom half of her dress to its original position.
"Going already?"
"Yeah, sadly we still have people out there waiting to tell me everything about their lives and give me tips on how I can do my position in the company better. And of course I have to kiss their asses." She sighs, straightening the sides of her crimson/ivory dress until it represents the curves of a swan's neck.
She continues to face the mirror as she hears creaks from the bed, before feeling robust hands on her waist. Peliz's head emerges from behind her and rests on her shoulder.
"Just don't listen to them. I've been running my jewelry company and the Diávolos organization for years now, but they still criticize me. You know what you're doing, don't feel compelled by them to do anything. Most of them were born rich, they just see you as an easy target."
"I know... I know, but sometimes I feel like whatever I do they just won't ever respect me. Like they're talking about me behind my back. I shouldn't care... but it's hard."
"Marel, you are the most hardworking person I've ever come to know. And I thank God every day for having you. You even get work done faster than my own right hand man. You have to be the most valuable person working alongside me right now." Marel sighs once more before guiding Peliz's hands in front of her, sinking back into his pleasant embrace.
"There's actually something I would like ask of you my princess."
Her mouth opens to respond but is cut off by a vociferous sound emitting from behind their dark wood door.
She flinches as her ears prick from muffled screams.
"What in the hell is that?" She alarms, grabbing the end of her lengthy dress and striding towards the exit, her heart suddenly beating rapidly in her chest. She flings the door open and bounds down the hall's sleek black floors, arriving into the grand room with Peliz in tow. She can't believe her eyes.
The guests scatter for cover as some men fire their guns abruptly, aiming towards the ceiling. She doesn't know how to react, but the first thought that emerges in her mind is where her mother is.
"Marel!" She faintly here's Peliz behind her before she's tugged on the other side of a velvet-ed table. She watches as concrete dust journey's from the roof to the floor, dusting everything into a dreary grey.
"Peliz! I know you're in here somewhere haha! Show yourself Pendejo!" One man laughs dementedly as he continues to shoot up at the ceiling, along with his crew. Marel peaks from the other side of the table as her heart drops to her stomach. The man's tall with a black cloth covering his mouth and dark clothing. He points his revolver at unsuspecting victims, but through Marel view he hasn't caused any serious harm... yet.
She quickly looks back at Peliz and grabs his hand.
"Why is he calling your name? What does he want? Peliz, what is going on? Tell me!"
"Calm down! I'll take care of it, he won't get to hurt you, I swear." He stresses as he clenches his jaw, but he doesn't make direct eye contact.
"What the hell do you mean by 'won't get to hurt me'?! Don't tell me you've gotten yourself into more trouble again? You TOLD me you would stop-"
"I know, I know. I'm sorry, let me handle this. Leave with the rest of the people!" She tries to pull him back to the ground, but he easily exceeds her strength. Her breath hitches in her chest as he begins to dash through the whirring crowd streaming through the hall.
She sits herself down slowly to the ground, not knowing what to do. The shots still ring in her ears as her mind constantly keeps beating her over the head with thoughts of her mother. She can't leave without her.
I'm sorry this chapter was short. School's has started, and I'm already swimming in homework. Hip hip hooray I guess. Next Chapter will be posted next week Friday!
