Go to America, they said! It will be fun, they said! No. From Day One, every one's asking me if I'm a genius or if I can solve some Math problem, or if I have some hidden talent. No. Absolutely not. Th only reason I'm here is because I have the best English grades in Japan. My name is Rina Takahashi, and this is how my new American life is going to be. Filled with tons of people making Asian jokes and stupid assumptions. Do your worst.

~ ~ ~

Let's begin Day Two, shall we?

Ah, English class! I just love English! It's one of the easy subjects to me, and I was praised at my previous school for my great English skills. I didn't have much of that Japanese accent because of my frequent practice. Anyway, English class is the last class, the only thing I look forward to.

"Psst! Rina! Rina!" Not her again.

I turn my back slowly to see Christina. Why didn't I like her? Because she was the one who kept assuming stupid things and kept asking about Math. I almost failed Math last year! Seriously, just listen to my words! "What?" I whispered. We were in the middle of class and the last thing I need is to be hated by the English teacher.

"Are you good at drawing?" See what I mean? She's assuming.

"No! Not anime, not manga, not anything! I cannot draw!" I whispered in a frustrated voice and quickly turned away.

"Rina!" Oh great, Mr. Popular! And did I mention he sat next to me?

"What!?" I whisper-yelled

"Do you like sushi?--"

And I automatically face into my textbook. These people are crazy!

"That is all for today, you may go" Mrs. Adams said.

I immediately got out of class. Things were getting out of hand, you know. Sure, this is better than getting bullied but seriously! If t's not anime, it's food, if it's not food it's Asian jokes! And if it's not that its just more assumptions that don't even make sense! Sure, my country can be weird, but are you telling me America is normal? Ha! Yeah right!

"RINA!" No, no, no! Keep walking, Rina!

But no, Mr. Popular just had to be friends with Christina! "Hey, Rina!"

"What is it now? Writing a book about myself would be easier for you to get to know me!" I finally give in.

"Where do you live?" Peter asked (Yep, Mr. Popular's name is Peter, Peter Evans)

"Earth" I answered bluntly.

Christina laughed. "You're really funny, Rina!"

No, I'm freaking serious. "Want to go for an ice cream?" Peter asked.

"No money" I say bluntly as I turn away only to be interrupted again.

"I'll treat you!" Christina offered. Then t ht me!  can order the most expensive ice cream and they'll be afraid to ask me again!

"Okay!" I said a little too enthusiastically.

"Great!" Christina cheered.

"I have to call Dean and Scarlett!"

From only two days of being here, I already knew who Dean and Scarlett were. Scarlett was Peter's oh-so-beautiful girlfriends and Dean was Peter's very hyper best friend. I almost thought it was impossible for someone to be more hyper than Christina but I was wrong, completely wrong.

"Sure"

"Rina, what are your best subjects?" Scarlett asked. She may have been beautiful but there was something eerie about her.

"English and P.E, I guess" I said, taking another scoop from my sundae. That's right! A sundae! Christina was sitting beside me, pouting and staring at her ice cream cone. It was plain chocolate, and it was lucky for her to even have leftover cash to spare a cone for herself.

"Hey Chris! Why are you so...like that?" Dean asked.

"I was hoping Rina wasn't so picky with ice cream" Rina sighed. "But she was very picky"

Peter chuckled. "She picked the most expensive one too!"

"I always take the opportunity!" I shrugged off.

Next thing I knew, I was on my way home with Scarlett, of all people. Why not Christina? At least she seemed harmless! I always get this weird vibe around Scarlett. There's just something about her that I couldn't quite put my finger on.

"ARGH! I can't take it anymore!" Surprisingly, that was Scarlett, and not me.

"H-huh?"

"What's it like in Japan?"

"Good, I guess-"

"Is manga cheaper there?"

"I don't know-"

"Is anime broad casted on every channel?"

'I don't pay attention to-"

"Do they sell costumes at a lower price and have cute things everywhere!?" She was breathless. But she looked so excited and happy. An otaku!

"You- You really like Japan, don't you?"

"YES!" She cheered "I'm an otaku in secret! I'm not getting perfect grades because of Japan!"

"Sorry-"

"Don't be! Anime and manga are the best things that ever happened to me!" Says the pretty, popular girl that has a boyfriend and perfect life.

I sighed. Nobody's perfect after all. I turn away and leave her hanging.

"Hey!-"

"Sorry, this is my way home! See you tomorrow maybe, Scarlett!"

Thank god I managed to get out of that mess!

I get in the house and only silence welcomes me. The moment would be so much more funny and less lonely if some tumbleweed passed by my house. But that's just me and my weird imagination. Yeah, moving into America made me sacrifice seeing my parents and siblings. But they would visit! After a year...but I'll wait. They say the wait makes it more exciting, right?

"RINA!!!" I almost got a heart-attack! How was my phone ringing with Christina's voice?

I answered and was welcomed to the same voice only louder. "RINA!!!-"

"How did you get my phone number?"

"I'm part of the student council, remember?"

"How did you change my ring tone then!?"

"I got a hold of it while you were staring at your sundae a few moments ago"

I sighed. "Goodbye"

"Hey! Wait-" And good riddance! She's going to ask me the same assuming questions over and over again anyway!

Eh? Where's my English textbook? Come to think of it, I remember leaving immediately... I left it at school! NO! I NEED TO STUDY!

And then my phone rings again. But this time it was a text.

I have your English textbook with me! You left class so early that you forgot! Luckily I got it! But gommen! I totally forgot about since we were having so much fun talking and everything! >_< Don't worry you'll ace tomorrow's test for sure! <3 Chris

"ARGH! NO! I'M GOING TO FAIL! I WANTED TO GET PERFECT GRADES ON ENGLISH TOO!" I shouted, clenching my fists and pounding them to my head.

And this is just the start! Damn it! Damn it! And what's with her use of "gommen"? Do NOT use Japanese words like that! It's annoying and not at all cute! ARGH! Seriously!?

~ ~ ~

Don't worry Rina! You're not the only who hates that! Unfortunately, it's a habit for me! xD
