Being the unaware student of most of my Math classes, I didn't notice until now, that Keegan was in the same class. I just called him Mohawk yesterday! This will not be helping me! This is what I get for sitting in the front corner near a window. I would always stare at the window, the math teacher just sounded so...number-y. I'm glad he doesn't notice how unattentive I am. Maybe he does, but thinks I know it all for being Asian- Yay, the teachers are like this too!
Just my luck for being so sidetracked about yesterday that I got two minutes later that I'd always be. Now I'm in the 3rd row, in the middle seat, being able to see people come in, so clearly. Why did Keegan have to be one of them?
"Sushi" He greeted, a bit confused but he sa right in front of me.
I groaned into my textbook.

It felt like hours before that class had finally ended. I quickly grab my textbooks, and get out of class. For all I know, Lucas and Dean could be in my Chemistry class! No, that's impossible, Christina is my partner, and she only talks to girls in that particular class.
"Leaving so soon?"
I turn my body to face him warily. "Yeah! I'm in a hurry for the next class!"
Suddenly some random person I've never seen comes over and stands next to Keegan. "Oh? You're finally going to torment the new girl?"
"I did that that yesterday" He said like I was just some toy.
"Then?"
"You dropped 3 of your pens while you were running off to your next class"
My eyes widened, and I turned slightly pink from embarrassment. "O-oh"
"Seriously?" The random person laughed, and picked up the two pens he could see, handing them to me. "Here ya go"
"There's another pen- well I think it's a highlighter- laying inside the room" Keegan jerked his thumb at the room.
Sure enough, my yellow highlighter was just steps away from the seat that I previously sat in. "Thanks"
"No problem, sushi" He said as he and his friend started chuckling on their way to their next class. I just hoped that they weren’t chuckling because of me.
I sighed of relief and got in and took my highlighter.
"Rina?"
I was startled and accidentally ht my head on one of the tables. "Yeah?" turn my head to Peter, pretending nothing just happened.
He smiled. "Aren't you supposed to be getting to Chemistry class?"
"How did you know?"
"Christina told me"
"Oh" I tuck the highlighter into my pockets, and stand up. "Are you really happy for Scarlett?"
Because of the newbie that I was, I had no idea if that question was stupid or not. My stupid side probably thought that these problems are solved with very, very direct questions.
"Or was that a stupid question?"
He giggled. "Well, not really. Scarlett was really great, you know?"
Yeah, she's a cheerleader, she's got good grades, she's pretty, she's nice, she's perfect but she's a closet otaku.
"She was my childhood friend, and we told each other everything. When she became my girlfriend, we became distant. I think it really was better for the two of us to break up"
"But judging from the slight bags under your eyes, you couldn't sleep, huh?"
"You noticed that? - Um, I just started sleeping an hour later than I usually sleep"
"I see" I glance at my watch. "I'm sorry! I lost track of time! I'll be really late if I don't go now!"
"Uh, bye-" I quickly run to my chemistry class.
I wonder if it was tardiness, or the pressure of that conversation that made me want to run? America sure is stressful!

The bell rings, and school for today has finally ended.
"Yo! Sushi!" Oh, please no.
I continue walking, I had earphones on, but no music was playing. I'm just going to pretend I can't hear him at all.
'SUSHI!" He shouted this time.
I moved my head to the nonexistent beat of the song I was "listening" to.
"SUSHI!!!" And the heart attack comes back once he places his hand on my shoulder.
Why am I even scared? I take out my earphones as if there really was music playing. "Yeah?"
He gave me a strange look. "What were you listening to?"
"Oh!" I said the first thing that came to mind. "Just some Japanese songs, why?"
He groaned. “Peter said he wanted me to lead you to my house"
"What!?"
"Relax! To meet Lucas!"
"Oh..."
And so we did. But it was awkward, very awkward.
"Do we have any Algebra homework?" He suddenly asked.
Right, I would know, I listen to our Math teacher all the time! "I'm not sure"
He sighed. "I'll just ask Paul again, then" He said as he brought both his arms behind his head.
"How did Lucas become your step-brother?"
"How?"
"Um-"
"My mother remarried with his father. Is that what you meant?"
"Yeah..."
"Here we are"
His house was a bit bigger than most houses, and it was painted in white. The front yard looked so nice and refreshing with all the plants and cute little bench to decorate the place. It looked beautiful to me. It was a simple yet beautiful home, something I had always wanted.
"You're drooling, sushi" Keegan smirked at me.
"No, I'm not!"
"Wanna meet Lucas or not?" He opened the door lazily and stepped in, letting his bag fall to the floor. “Lucas!”
I sighed. This will be a long visit.
