Chapter 3

Theresa POV

I walked out of the infirmary just as the nurses started Wendy's procedure. I had already arranged for prosthetic legs, just as I promised Y/N. I walked out of the infirmary, only to run into Himeko's large...assets. I glared at them with a slight hint of jealousy before looking up to meet her gaze.

"So you want to fill me in on this Y/N?"

"Fine but we can't talk about here. We'll have to go somewhere more private."

Himeko nodded and I quickly led her away from the infirmary. I led her into an unused room and shut the door behind us.

"Now what's so secret and special about Y/N?"

I let out a sigh and sat in a nearby chair. 

"Y/N was an experiment for Schicksal, well more like a personal experiment for Otto. He wanted a human with herrscher powers. One that he could control." 

"And what made Y/N a perfect fit for his experiment?"

"Well turns out Y/N's mother was the second herrscher." Himeko's eyes widened as soon as the sentence left my mouth 

"Her daughter?"

"Yes. Since she was already exposed to the honkai energy of a herrscher he deemed her a perfect target. When he took her from an orphanage he put her through an excessive scan. Turns out half of her blood was honkai energy. Her heart couldn't keep up and was failing so he did something drastic. He switched her heart out for a honkai beast's heart. Although that changed Y/N so she couldn't fully control the amount of honkai energy a herrscher could. So he changed her purpose. Made her become manipulated by a herrscher. Protect them. Almost like a knight of some sorts."

"That's why the scans-"

"That's why they were abnormal yes."

"If she was with Otto than how did she end up with Wendy?"

"There was an accident at one of the labs that was housing her. She faked her death after she learned what Otto was doing. To me and to her."

"What was he training her for?"

I looked around making sure there was no cameras or anyone in the room listening in on us.

"He was training her so he could take over the other two branches. Force his control onto everyone." 

Himeko's eyes widened.

"He was planning world domination?"

"He still is. If he finds out that she is still alive he will stop at nothing to get her back. He'll send every S rank valkyrie he has. From Durandal to well, anyone that has a chance to defeat her." 

Your POV

I watched from my bed as Theresa left with the Himeko person. A nurse came up to me, patching a few of my injuries.

"Don't do too much exercise. You have a broken rib so try not to do so much."

I nodded and she quickly walked away. I looked around the infirmary which was now empty. They had already taken Wendy back for surgery so there was literally no one here. I waited a few seconds and slowly got out of the bed. I walked out into the hallway and slowly limped my way around the ship. After a few minutes of walking I found myself in the dorm area of the ship.

"I thought you were supposed to be in the infirmary." I heard Mei's voice behind me

I turned to respond but as soon as our eyes connected, I felt a tingling in my spine. I physically shivered causing her to approach me.

"Are you okay?" Her hand touched my shoulder and I felt a jolt of energy 

She must've felt it too because not even a second after it happened she pulled away. I saw her eyes flash a bright purple for a second before they returned to her normal color.

"W-What just happened?" She asked looking at her hand and then me 

"You're a herrscher." I looked at her in disbelief

Mei's eyes widened at my quick assumption.

"How did you know?"

"You're energy. The honkai energy spiked when you touched me. Your eyes also turned a bright purple."

"So you are able to sense my honkai energy?"

"Yes. As well as the herrscher energy inside you." I took a step towards her and I could feel my eyes changing colors

Mei's eyes did the same, the light purple coming back with a vengeance. I saw Mei ball her hands into fists as the eye contact continued. I slowly felt myself changing and I knew I had to stop myself. 

"NO!" I hissed closing my eyes and looking away, "I am the protector of the herrscher of the wind! Forgive me." I muttered the last part 

"You are forgiven. Next time you challenge me my precious knight I will have you under my full control. It will not matter whether you belong to another herrscher or not." 

I knew that was the herrscher speaking instead of Mei. I kept my head lowered until the honkai energy calmed down.

"W-What just happened?" Mei asked shakily

I finally looked up at her, seeing all signs of the herrscher gone.

"The herrscher inside you thought I was challenging her. She came out, in a sense, to try and control me."

"But why?"

"Your herrscher saw me as a potential protector, so if she were to fully reawaken then she would have someone to protect her until the very end. She was trying to manipulate me with her energy. I had to look away or I would've succumbed to her."

"I didn't even know she was still able to come out. They placed a bomb in my neck in case my energy got too high."

"That's the same thing they're doing to Wendy, but just know there are ways to remove it. To cheat the system." 

Mei's eyes widened once again.

"What? How do you even know-"

"Don't worry about that. Just try and forget that this happened. I don't need to draw any attention while I'm here. I don't want him to find out."

"Him?"

"Sorry. I was just rambling. Please try and forget what happened." 

"I can't just simply dismiss-"

"MEI!!" I heard Kiana yell before jumping on her from behind

Kiana wrapped her arms around Mei's shoulders, looking at me with jealousy. I simply smiled.

"Are you two dating? You look rather cute together."

Both girls blushed, but the blush was much more evident of Mei's face.

"N-No w-we're not!" She stuttered waving her arms

I only laughed as Kiana let go of her. I walked over to Kiana and whispered in her ear.

"If you ever need some advice come to me. I can give you some tips from experience."
