Chapter 6

"Y/N are you okay? You've been silent ever since you came back from the orphanage." Mei asked me as we borded the elevator

I only nodded in response, clutching the tan file in my hand tightly. Out of the corner of my I saw Kiana slowly reaching for the file in my hand. I narrowed my eyes at her and quickly moved my hand away.

"Aw come on Y/N~" She whined pouting

"It's not for you to see." I stated angrily causing the two girls to look at me confused

The elevator doors finally opened and Himeko, Theresa, and Wendy turned to greet us.

"Y/N!" Wendy smiled jumping on me

I smiled back at her, wrapping one of my arms around her waist. I placed a small kiss on her forehead, but when she looked up at me she frowned. She softly placed both her hands on my cheek, running one of her fingers along some of my scratches.

"You said you would come back without any scratches!"

"I know, I know. I'm sorry." I set her down facing Himeko and Theresa, "We need to talk. Just the three of us."

Himeko and Theresa shared a look before finally nodding. I felt Wendy intertwine our hands, and she gave my hand a small squeeze. 

"Alright. You three go downstairs and grab something to eat."

"Finally! Some food!" Kiana cheered as Mei chuckled following her to the elevator

Wendy shot me a concern look. I nodded sending a small smile to her, and giving her hand a reassuring squeeze.

"It's okay. I'll be down in a few minutes." I let go of her hand causing her to pout

She hesitated for a few seconds but eventually joined Mei and Kiana in the elevator. Once it began to go down I turned my attention back to the two remaining Valkyries. 

"What is it that you wanted to talk about?" Theresa asked crossing her arms

"It has come to my attention that there is a spy among us."

"What?!"

"These files from the orphanage pretty much explains everything." I stated handing Theresa the files, "I would suggest keeping a closer eye on Bronya. Also keep her away from Mei."

Himeko looked down at the files and both women read it rather quickly.

"So her whole purpose in joining the academy was just to get to Mei? But why?"

"She was probably going to kidnap her. Then bring her back to Cocolia for who knows what." 

"You should question her when she wakes up."

"We will but until then we need you to watch over Mei." H

"I don't think that's a good idea." Theresa stated

"I agree. If I spend too much time with Mei I may become influenced by her herrscher."

"We have a bomb in place for that." Himeko sighed leaning against the rail

"It doesn't matter. She doesn't need to be in her herrscher form to influence me. It happened earlier even though the herrscher inside her forgave me, but if it happens again she will take me."

Himeko rubbed her eyes in frustration, "Well we can't tell Kiana. She'll freak out, and well, probably stalk Mei 24/7. We definitely don't want that."

After a few moments of silence I spoke again.

"I'll do it but only if you remove the bomb from Wendy's heart."

"That is not happening. We cannot have her go out of control."

"And what do you think will happen if Mei's herrscher takes me over? Wendy won't be able to get me back under control because her power's have been restricted. You'll have many more problems than just an out of control herrscher." 

The two women shared a look before finally turning back to me.

"Fine. We'll do it."

Cocolia POV

I couldn't help but smile as I saw the cute Y/N, and her 'friends' get beamed back up to their ship.

"What are you smiling about?" A gruff voice growled behind me, "She found the files."

My 'friend' the Grey Serpent stood behind me glaring at me.

"What? She's cute."

"Her being cute has nothing to do about the files. Those files had valuable information in them!"

"I know."

"You're acting like Bronya's cover isn't blown. Who knows what they'll do to her."

"Trust me. Those two won't do anything. They're too soft." I scoffed 

"Then how are you expecting to kindap Mei then? They'll assign the girl to watch over her."

"That's what I'm counting on. I can see that you haven't done your research on Y/N." I teased him with a smirk, "Y/N was turned into a honkai knight, if you will. Her mother was the second herrscher, and Otto made her the way she is now. She's manipulated by herrscher energy. Whenever a herrscher pops up she's affected by their energy. They seek her out, wanting to claim Y/N as their knight. If there's more than one herrscher then well, the stronger one will take over Y/N." 

"So you're hoping for the herrscher within Mei will try and take her?"

"Yes. Hopefully with the spike of energy she will attract the other herrscher."

"Cocolia that's almost impossible. Otto trapped her within a ship." 

"Oh I know but I don't think she'll like being the weakling. She'll seek out Mei and Y/N which then we'll follow her. Within the chaos we can retrieve Bronya without any problems."

"You're forgetting that Sirin might not even show up."

"Serpent trust me. Sirin hates being the weakest herrscher around. Especially after what happened."

"This better work Cocolia. If not then I'm hunting her down. There's no point in keeping this honkai knight alive if she doesn't benefit us."

My eyes narrowed as I quickly pulled my gun out, pointing it right at his forehead. His eyes widened in surprise at my action.

"You will not touch her. If you do I won't hesitate to shoot you between the eyes." 

"Why do you even care about her so much? You barely even know her."

"That's none of your damn business." 

He only growled in response, quickly turning away and storming off.
