Chapter 10: 6 years later..

-six years later..

Bucky did finish his degree but the day he graduated. A unexpected phone call he almost didn't take happened. Three years ago Bucky was helping Kingston put there two year old son Logan James to bed.

Kingston went on to put their 4 year old daughter Abby to bed while he took it. He came into the kitchen where she was cleaning up the mess from the party she threw for him.

"Baby you alright?" She said

"Um that was the owner of the NY Giants on the phone." He said still in shock.

"Okay..what did he want baby?" She said

"Um they want me to um come in for a interview. For the head coach position." He said

"James baby sit down.." she said as she made him sit down at the kitchen table.

She smiled at him ""James baby I know that NFL has been your dream. Maybe this is your way of achieving that dream. You may not be playing anymore baby but you can now coach in the NFL. And I will still be your loving supportive wife that I have been for the last 5 years. I have always told you that I would never be like your ex wife. So if you want to do this then we will do this together." She said

He kissed her. "And this right here is exactly why I fell in love with you doll baby. And Im glad that I already knew you would say this cause I told them I could come in on Thursday." He said

She smiled at him. "I love you baby"

Now three years later Bucky was one of the top coaches in the NFL. He and Kingston were stronger than ever in their marriage. She was also expecting their third baby together another baby boy.

When Bucky married Kingston Sydney was not happy with her girls' stepmother being an 18 year old. So Sydney fought for full custody and he never saw Saylor or his other daughter Hadley again. Sydney moved them to Boston where her family was.

When she got word that he was now a NFL coach she was floored. But no more shocked than she was this particular night. It was the night of the coaches hall of fame.

Bucky and Kingston were in attendence. Bucky was being inducted after six years of coaching. He was sitting in his seat enjoying his dinner with Kingston at the ceremony.

When Coach Tomlin walked out on stage. "Hi everybody Im Coach Lucas Tomlin former NYU Violets football coach. I have been asked to speak on this inductee's behalf. I have known him since he was a wise cracking smart mouth kid at just 19 years old. He was my #1 quarterback recruit but all the colleges wanted this kid. I was lucky he chose to stay close to home. And when I was ready to retire two years after he left I knew he would be the best for the job. I watched him coach at his old high school. And now I stand here to say that I am beyond proud of this guy and I know his parents are smiling down on him. So give a big round of applause for this coach. NY Giants Head Football Coach James Barnes."

Bucky pulled Kingston with him to go up on the stage. Throughout Lucas's speech was pictures of Bucky's football career and coach's career.

"Thank you Lucas..and thank you to the Hall of Fame. But I wouldnt be standing here if it wasn't for my beautiful wife that is standing here with me. She has been so loving and supportive and has pushed me to pursue my NFL dream even if it wasnt in the direction that I thought it would be. And thank you to my two kids at home Logan and Abby daddy loves you." He said.

Sydney stood there in shock as her now husband a lawyer Beckett Brown wrapped his arms around her. "Baby shh..its okay." He whispered.

She looked down. Beckett adopted her girls when Bucky signed his rights over out of anger for her taking them from him. That night Kingston and Bucky enjoyed their night in her tub as Bucky's sister Becca kept the kids for them.

And by 4 AM they were rushing to the hospital as her water broke. At 535 Am she gave birth to their second son "Thomas James Barnes."

"Best night ever that turned into the best morning ever." He said as he held his new son.

Kingston smiled. "I love you James.." she said

"I love you my gorgeous wife." He said as he kissed her.

Becca brought in their kids along with hers. Bucky's other siblings came in as well as Kingston's family.
