Softboi Josh. Was listening to a cute indie playlist while writing this, so sorry if it's too cheesy. But also not sorry because I think this is cute as hell. Anyways, enjoy :)

"We can share a bed." You say casually to Josh. "I mean, it's only for one night."

You were on tour with the boys for a couple weeks, and it was decided that everyone would get off the road and stop in (c/n) for a day. You were all exhausted from constant traveling and shows, and everyone needed a day off and out of the van. Unfortunately, the hotel didn't have enough rooms, so while the rest of the group got two beds to a room you and Josh were left with one.

"Are you sure? I'm totally fine sleeping on a cot or a couch or even a floor." Josh had insisted you take the bed no matter what, but he'd been working so hard and you didn't want him to have to sleep uncomfortably for yet another night. Besides, you guys were friends; it's not like it could be that uncomfortable.

"Yeah, of course. It's a king sized bed it's not like I'm going to be using all the space." You tell him.

"With the way you sprawl and toss and turn all night, I'm pretty sure you might." Josh laughs. "But if you insist."

"Shut up, I'm not that bad." You scoff, smacking his arm playfully.

"We'll see." Josh smirks at you, and you blush slightly.

You all spend the rest of the day exploring the city, sight seeing and window shopping until your feet are sore. The night ends with a big dinner at a hole in the wall restaurant, with a couple drinks at the bar. It was a perfect day, but you were exhausted by the time you got back to the hotel room. You barely manage to get your shoes off before you collapse onto the bed, sprawling out across the soft comforter.

"See, you're already taking up all the space." Josh laughs, pushing your arm over so he can sit on the bed next to you.

"Hey I'm exhausted okay? I deserve all the space in the world after walking that much." You try and take up even more space, reaching your arm towards Josh and poking him with your fingers.

"I walked just as much as you did! What makes you deserve more space than me?" Josh asks, playfully pushing you away.

"If I remember correctly, you said I could have the bed but I so generously allowed you to join me." You say as you get up from the bed and go to change into your pajamas. "So you better be grateful for the space you do get."

You can practically hear Josh roll his eyes as you put on your tank top and sweatpants in the bathroom. "Fine, I surrender. But at least try not to kick me in your sleep, that's the least you could do!"

"No promises." You smirk, walking out of the bathroom and diving into the bed, pulling the white blanket and sheets up past your chin. "You coming to bed or what?"

Josh chuckles and shakes his head at you, heading to the bathroom to change as well. You're already feeling quite sleepy lying against the fluffy pillows, but are brought back to alertness as the mattress suddenly sinks next to you, Josh finally climbing into bed.

"Good night darling." Josh mumbles in a British accent, causing you to giggle.

"Goodnight dork." You close your eyes, a smile remaining on your face. For a moment, there is only silence, but then you hear him speak again, his voice muffled.

"What?" You ask, rolling over to face Josh. You give him a puzzled look; something was different. He looks at you more intently, his lips pursed with words still balancing on them. For the first time in a long time, Josh struggles with what to say.

"Josh?" You press, your voice softer now. He bites his lip in hesitation, then finally speaks.

"Is it wrong to want you in my arms right now?"

The question surprises you, but your reaction shocks you even more. Without thinking, you shake your head no. There was no doubt in your mind that you had been waiting for this, hoping for it all day. Ever since you found out the two of you would be sharing a room together, you thought about how much you wanted to be next to him, with him, even if just for one night.

Josh smiles, and gently pulls you towards him, positioning you so that your head lays on his chest and his arms are wrapped tightly around you. It feels natural, comfortable, and familiar despite it being the first time he's ever held you like this. He runs a hand through your hair, brushing your cheek lightly with his thumb.

"I'm glad you didn't make me sleep on the floor." Josh says, and you laugh softly.

"I'm glad you were so open to sharing." You mutter, looking up at him. He slowly moves his face closer towards yours, his lips landing softly against yours.

Neither one of you move the rest of the night. You sleep soundly in his arms, and wake up to soft kisses on your forehead. You wouldn't have wanted to share a room with anyone else.
