Max: Hey. It's really good to see you again, Lucas.
Lucas: You too Max.
Max felt butterflies rise in her stomach. She had never felt like this with anyone before...
Lucas: So do you wanna go see a movie, maybe?
Max: Yeah, that sounds pretty cool. What d'ya wanna see?
Lucas smiled. Even her voice was soothing. It made him feel so lucky. He was on a date with the most beautiful girl on earth. that's when it hit him. Was this a date? Did Max also think this was a date? Does she think we were just chilling? We never clarified this! Lucas was freaking out. His palms were starting to get sweaty and he felt his heart beating out of his chest.
Max: Helloooo? Earth to Lucas?
She laughed, her freckled cheeks rising.
Lucas: Woah, sorry! Zoned out there for a second!
Max: Yeah, you okay? Your starting to sweat, and it's not hot?
Lucas panicked. She must think he was so gross.
Lucas: Uh, hormones.
Max face went red.
Max: Oh right.
'oh god' he thought to himself. he had downgraded from gross to disgusting with two words. Did uh even count as a word? not really! So, great! One word and Lucas managed to do that!
Max: Whats your favourite movie?
Lucas: Day of the dead! It's the best by far!
Maxine's face lit up.
Max: Seriously?! I LOVE THAT MOVIE!
'yes, go lucas! one win' he thought
Lucas: We can go see it if you like!
Max: If it's okay with you, I'd really like that.
Lucas: um hello? have you met me?
Max grinned.
Lucas: we better hurry up though or we'll miss it!
He linked his hand with Maxe's, and they ran off to the movie theatre.
