Since I came to this horrible place, I knew that I wasn't going to be the only one hating this life. I never thanked my parents for what they did and how they treated me, in my mind they weren't even parents, just hungry-for-money traitors. Being the oldest one of the five children they had, it was my duty to be the responsible one and the mature one, I wasn't raised like this but having to look after your other four siblings made you feel like you're a parent to them. Our 'parents' never took care of either of us, they were out of the castle and only cared about themselves, about the countries they could rob from and the army they could possess for their own satisfaction.
After the birth of my youngest sibling and the only girl, Thais, I made sure that they wouldn't have to have an arranged marriage. This was the deal with my parents, I get married to the most powerful king and anything that my siblings will need will be give to them. I love them too much to let them go through what I did, not being able to go out of the castle grounds and explore the kingdom. Not being able to feel alive, as if you were a human doll. It was horrible.
"Come on, Prince Kallisto. Your fiancé is waiting for you already." One the servants said, she was the only one who treated me with respect in this castle, and she was like the mother I never had. Theodora looked like she was in her late 30s, with electrifying, curly, purple hair and bright orange eyes. She would always talk about her son and daughter and her husband, I met them twice when I sneaked out of the castle and went to see them. They girl was 12 and her brother was Thais' age, 14.
"Theodora, I-I.." I tried to say, knowing that this whole thing took a massive strain to myself. I didn't want to get married, but every night that I would cry myself to sleep I knew that my siblings had a good life back in my country of origin. They spoke to me through Holo, a watch like machine that let us see the other person in whatever part of the planet they were in.
She smiled at me sadly, hugging me close to her curvy chest as I sobbed into her shoulder.
"My little, Kall. I will always be next to you and I love you like one of my own. Whenever you feel sad, I will always let you use my shoulder to sob on." Her soft lips kissed my forehead which was covered with a silver veil with gold necklaces falling onto my forehead. "Now, let me re do your make up quickly."
I nodded solemnly, sitting down on one of the wooden chairs while playing with the soft fabric of my white pants which had beautiful silver patterns going on each side of my leg. The White shirt I was wearing came up to my belly button where bits of gold and silver chains were falling into my slim hips. My porcelain skin was showing. After the re-applied the foundation which matched my skin and the tiny bit of eyeliner, Theodora put a white, lace cardigan on my exposed shoulders and a pair of silver sandals that showed me black painted toe nails. My jet black hair was straightened and was falling freely against my back and the front of the shirt.
"You look beautiful, now Prince Kall, we need to bring you to Prince Alcaeus." I nodded and put on a fake smile.
Walking out of the big room, we were met with the royal guards, leading us to the temple on the other side of the castle for occasions like this. After the ceremony, the man I was going to marry will become the King of Octavia and I was going to bare him the next King. We were in the boat which floated on top of different buildings, the hot summer air was making me sweat under the pieces of clothing.
After ten minutes of the ride, we were outside the big white building, full of different types of exotic flowers and trees. It was a beautiful day, but I felt like the rain should fall any second. The whole city was too cheery for me and this felt like walking to your own death. You wouldn't like it either.
"Prince Kallisto of Canavi." One of those guards said, the temple was full of kings and queens as well as their children and other royalties. I faked another smile when I saw my siblings, my one and only family, sitting there in their finest clothes. The twins looked overly handsome with their turquoise hair tied back and my lovely sister and brother were just magnificent. I gently nodded at them, earning a scowl off my mother and father, which looked as always- arrogant.
