Zailey's P.O.V.

Monday. The day that all kids dread. The day that the new school week starts. But at least I don't have to go to a boring school. I go to a Hollywood Arts school where we pretty much just sing, dance, play instruments, and just learn about music artists, and acting. It's pretty cool, beside the fact of all the bitches that think they're all that. Let's just say, that I don't get along with a lot of girls in my school.

I decided on a yellow and white dress, (because I wear dresses in public), and got some black flats. I curled my hair and pulled back my bangs. I grabbed a pop-tart and got a glass of orange juice. I sat at my kitchen counter remembering my assignment that's due today. I have to sing a song from one of my music idols, and I haven't practiced at all. Whoops. I'll just improvise. I grabbed my purse and keys, and headed for the car.

"No Abby, I'm not going." I said to my impulsive friend.

"But you have to go! Blink 182 is coming to perform too! You have to come!" She pleaded.

To get you up to date, Abby wants me to go to a dance thing, which I don't have time to go to.

"Abby, you already know that I can't go."

"But why again?"

"You know. And I'm not saying it out loud. You know that I can't go, and I don't have the money for a new dress."

"Well who says you have to get a new one?" Abby asked.

"Pretty much this whole entire school, and the whole dance nation. But still, I'm busy that weekend."

"Fine. But I am getting you to come to a different dance with me."

"Whatev."

Shit, in a couple hours I have to sing my song. Maybe I should practice or something. Nah, I don't care enough to do that. Todd walked into school, as I can see, because he's making out with his girlfriend. The only way I know that he isn't gay is because of his girlfriend. And he is dating top bitch in this school. But I don't think he knows that.

"Hey Zailey, new kids staring at you." Abby said while nudging me.

I looked over to see Louis Tomlinson staring at me. "He only is because he doesn't know me."

"Don't deny things that are true. I think I know who to ask out for you." She raised her eyebrows at me. I gave her the finger.

Is it weird that like most of One Direction got moved into all of my classes? In my singing class all of them are in there. And I have to frikin sing my embarassing song in front of them. Well this is going to be great. First thing they know about me is my voice and that I randomly come to people's houses for autographs. They must think I'm really mental.

"Zailey, come back to earth now." Somebody called in my ear.

"Todd, I was thinking."

"Well Zailey, did you think about how you didn't practice your song?"

"Maybe. Maybe not. Now what song are you singing?" I asked.

"Burn it Down by Linkin Park. What are you singing Ms. Anderson?"

"Don't call me that. And I'm singing a song, Todd."

"Well good luck woman."

"You're up dude. Go sing your stuff."

Let me just say this, Todd was flipping amazing. I love his voice, and he knows that all the other girls love his voice too. Therefore, he has no problem singing. Now me on the other hand, I don't mind singing, I just don't like to that much because I'm worried that other people have more talent than me. I mean they act like it. And I only really have two or three people tell me that I'm a great singer anyways.

"Zailey Anderson! You're up!"

I got up and passed Todd as he walked past me to his seat. Well here it goes. Let's do this.

"I'm singing Try by P!nk."

This is the procedure, say what song you're singing and look at the teacher until she says you can start. She takes forever, but gives me more time to think. The teacher nodded her head at me and I got ready to start.  I went over to the piano and started to play the introduction.

Ever wonder about what he's doing

How it all turned to lies

Sometimes I think that it's better to never ask why

Where there is desire, there's gonna be a flame

Where there is a flame someone's bound to get burned

But just because it burns doesn't mean you're gonna die

You've gotta get up and try, try, try

Gotta get up and try, try, try

You've gotta get up and try, try, try

Eh, eh, eh

Funny how the heart can be decieving, more than just a couple times

Why do we fall in love so easy, even when it's not right

Where there is desire, there's gonna be a flame

Where there is a flame someone's bound to get burned

But just because it burns doesn't mean you're gonna die

You've gotta get up and try, try, try

Gotta get up and try, try, try

You've gotta get up and try, try, try

Ever worried that it might be ruined, and does it make you wanna cry?

When you're out there doing what you're doing, are you just getting by?

Tell me are you just getting by, by, by

I finished the rest of the song and headed back to my seat. I averted my eyes to making any eye contact until I got to my seat. I don't know why, but I always get nervous over nothing. It's just weird. I've been in this class for a year, but I still can't look at people when I finish singing.

"Zailey! That was amazing!" Todd whisper-yelled into my ear.

"You're just saying that."

"No really, you were awesome. And I think everybody in this room agrees. Maybe if you look up when you're done singing, you would actually see peoples amazed faces."

"Todd, you are the awesome one here, okay? Okay."

'Believe whatever you want, but you are a good singer, a hell of an actor, and you're just awesome. End of conversation."
