Warriors - A Fanfic

Prologue

A mouse was scuffling in the ferns, with no idea of anyone else's presence. As it nibbled on a seed, a black she-cat with green eyes crept forward, setting her paws down lightly, as to not disturb the mouse. The cat lowered her tail, crawled a few more tail-lengths, then pounced. she landed on top of the mouse, slamming her paw down on the mouse's neck, and killed it with a quick nip to the throat. She stood up, her catch in her jaws. 

   "Nice catch!" The cat turned around, an orange tabby tom standing behind her.

   "Thank you, Firestar, but it was just a mouse. I was hungry!" The she-cat set down her prey.

   "Nonsense, Hollyleaf. You know how close you got. You could have tread on a twig and scared it away easily!" Hollyleaf lowered her head in embarrassment. The former leader of Thunderclan always seemed to be right behind her, complimenting her every action. It was kind of weird.

   "Actually, Hollyleaf... I came here to give you a prophecy. It is to tell your kin..." Hollyleaf gulped and looked up with a start.

   "My first prophecy! And i have kin? Who's the mother? Who's the father? I have so many questions!" She jumped up and down, then collected herself, her tail drooping in embarrassment. "Sorry..." Firestar's tail twitched with amusement. He stepped forward.

   "It's alright. Now, about the prophecy... please come closer..." Hollyleaf inched closer, until Firestar's mouth was right by her ear. "Three more, kin of the three, will have the stars in their paws, making them in danger of the great jaws of the tiger and the hawk." As Firestar drew his head back, the area around her began to fade. Hollyleaf was going into the dream of one of her kin. She just didn't know who...

   "Firestar?! Who's dream am i going into?!" She shouted, the vision of Firestar fading.

   "The dream of Leafkit, Hollyleaf. She will have Jayfeather's powers, so she must know of the prophecy."

   "What? But Leafkit is just a, well, kit!" Before Firestar could answer, he completely faded away. Hollyleaf sighed and got ready to try to explain something important to a measly kit. She appeared in a cavern, her paws pressed on the hard ground. Hollyleaf looked up. She gasped. Hollyleaf was in the same cave that led to the tunnels she hid in before she went back to Thunderclan, leading to the war that she died in. She could never forget the pain as Hawkfrost sliced into her, killing Hollyleaf. Hollyleaf shuddered. Suddenly, a small kit limped into the cave. Hollyleaf noticed that the kit was missing a paw.

   "H-hello? Who are you?" The kit stared at her, her eyes wide. "And how can I see you?" Hollyleaf stepped forward. She realized that this must be Leafkit.

   "I am Hollyleaf. You must be Leafkit. I have something special to tell you."

   "Whoa, is this Starclan? Am I dreaming? Cuz usually everything was black!" Hollyleaf stepped back. She realized that Leafkit must be blind, like Jayfeather!

   "Yes, and yes. You are Hollytuft's kit?" Hollyleaf asked.

   "Yeah! She is! Now what did you want to tell me?" Leafkit sat down.

   "Three more, kin of the three, will have the stars in their paws, making them in danger of the great jaws of the tiger and the hawk." Leafkit's eyes widened.

   "A prophecy? But i'm just a kit!" Leafkit gasped.

   "I know. It will all make sense in time. Now, I must go. I presume you will be an apprentice soon?"

   "Yes, but I don't think... Wait! Why are you leaving! I have so many questions!" Leafkit began to fade, leaving Hollyleaf by herself. 

   "Goodbye..."
