he grabbed her waist firmly and looked into cara's deep, hazel eyes. the urge grew stronger and stronger. he was so relieved once their lips met but it felt like she wasn't kissing back. in fact, when he opened his eyes he was shocked to see her looking back at him with wide eyes.

"are you alright?"

cara blinked at him. "i'm not sure."

"why do you say that?"

"um, i've never done this before. you're my... uh, first kiss."

harry looked down at his hands and ran his fingers through his hair. it made things so awkward. but he still liked her.

three of his fingers hooked onto her chin and made her look up to him. she was shorter than him. "you need to do real people things."

"like what?"

"like not this. this is probably the reason you haven't kissed anybody."

"you say that like i'm some kind of freak that does nothing but..." that's when cara knew what he was talking about.

but she liked being alone with her thoughts almost. as scary as everything was, she liked being her. she liked how harry stopped and talked to her even though he was here for margaret but he still stuck around to make a decent amount of comfortable conversation even though some would get a bit awkward. she liked him.

"i mean, i do normal stuff other than this."

"what is this though?"

she thought clearly as to what she was going to say next. the only thing that came to mind was that she didn't know. was this really a getaway? engrossing herself in the darkest place with the darkest thoughts she could ever have. she began to realize that this was unhealthy but it really was addicting.

the way she felt about being alone was buying your first cigarette pack and then buying another and another and another. it was uncontrollable.

"i'll go with i don't know."

"you need to escape this place before it takes over you."
