Meeting Mates

Alice's POV💙

I was walking down the hall on my last day of school, forever. Soon my Father, the Alpha, will be looking for me to marry. More like someone to take his seat as Alpha. I wondered if my mate would be suited to be an Alpha.

I wasn't looking to were I was going when I rounded the corner of the hall and my face slammed into a hard chest. The man I slammed into stood over me by a foot at least and was well built. He had this look of a man who was asleep but still it looked sexy. His hair was tousled about, it was a brassy color. But those green eyes stood out again his tan skin. He chest hard as brick but also looked like it would make a great pillow.

Pulling myself out of my thoughts I spoke to him, " I am sorry Ronny my head was elsewhere,"

He gave me a sly smile and turned his head as if he was in awe of me before he answered, "You are quite fine, Miss Luna." Luna? That's odd.

I walked away just then trying not to stare at him. He was the future enforcer for my Father. We grew up together always playing and fighting. Mostly we fought. Ronny was that guy who knew from the day he was born what he wanted out of life. Ronny wanted to be a leader, he oozes power from his pores. Don't believe me? Come to one of WWHS and watch a football game. 

Tomorrow is my 18th birthday. 18 means Mate time. It also means you have three years left to do anything remotely stupid because those of us with titles must being training. Not that I don't want to be Luna, but I had other things in mind. I am a teenager after all.

*TWO HOURS LATER*

Walking up the hill to my house I could tell the staff was in full swing planning the party of the year. The Alpha's only child is going to be mated. However, only people of title will be there. My father informed me a few nights before that he invited Alphas and Betas from other packs as well. Which meant he really wanted my mate to powerful. Anything less than an enforcer just wouldn't cut it. I was an only child which meant handing over the pack to a male that isn't his blood. Not an easy task for an Alpha.

See, being the future Luna was kinda like being royalty in our world. And that means everything is done in a formal manner. Including my 18th birthday party. Dresses, music and food, all prepared for you. No teenage sneeking out. Nope. Childish things should be put behind you by the time you reached 18. The Dressmaker was in my room by the time I got to it. My wolf shook her head wanting to run, before being sit still for hours on in, couldn't escape her.

My dress was breathtaking. It made my body stand out as it hugged every curve in just the right fashion. The dress was one of those dresses where it had one strap on your right shoulder but none on the left side. It wasn't a ball gown, no. More of a dress you would wear out to a high end club or dinner, which meant it was mid-thigh. The black fabric made my hips look just slightly bigger than they were. I ran my fingers down the silver bead work that started on my right shoulder and ended on my left hip and on of those rain drop fashions. I admired the work of art the dress truly was.

After such a long dress fitting, I forgot all about going for a run. I was so worn out I had decided to take a hot shower and go to bed.

Ronny's POV❤

She was my mate, no wait, she is my mate. The Alpha's daughter! My wolf whimpered and jumped inside of me. He was on edge just as much as I was. I had always liked our future Luna but I never gave it much thought past being friends. We were close as kids, I made Alice cry but then would always make it up with a bandaid and a sucker. She was now a cheerleader for our high school. I like to pretend little Alice is cheer for just me.

"Ronny!," the Alpha boomed out, "Are you okay son? You look completely lost. Is there somewhere else you would weather be?" He scolded. We were in the middle of a tux fitting, and I hadn't been listening to the tailor at all. But, it was so hard to focus after knowing what I know now.

"Sorry, Sir, " I needed to tell him about me finding my mate. I am just not sure now is the right time but just like that, the word vomit came, "Sir, your daughter is my mate." How did it just come spilling out of my mouth like that. But it would be best to get the Alpha's blessings now.

"Really?" The Alpha asked more pleased than I thought he would have been. I did just tell him I was taking over the pack ensincently. You'd think he would have been pissed at me. 

“Alpha, Sir, I will only accept her with your blessing.

He just walked a way scheming. He had a way of doing things that pleased everyone. He will be known as the best Alpha this pack has known. I hope I am just as good as he is.

I needed fresh air, and my wolf wanted to go for a run. Changing out of the newly fitted tux. I rushed out of the back door. I shifted once I hit the woods. My wolf was yelping in exticement that his mate was such a lovely girl. A girl that we had grew up. Who knew almost everything about us. Tomorrow she will know us for who we really where.

I ran for what felt like hours before returning to the Alphas home. I was mindlink that we would be having a meeting that night to discuss security details of tomorrow. This party was going to be a big deal, not only for Alice but for the pack as well.
