Tara nods, "I hope that shows you the truth about Michaela's family and about me, on how I became a vampire and yes, I'm Michaela's first sire." She replies. "I'm the first person she turned."
I lean back into the recliner, speechless as I put a hand to my chin as I rub it contemplating what she showed me.
Evan and Tara eye me as they wait for my response. "So, Michaela is really important to you?" I ask her.

She nods slowly, "She is more important to me in ways you cannot imagine, most mortals wouldn't understand, but as you're a vampire like us, you should now understand... if Michaela dies...I die, I am connected to her through her blood."
I look down at the floor, processing my thoughts. I ease up out of the recliner, as Evan and Tara eye me.
"Jake, are you alright?" asks Tara.
I rest my hands on my hips, as I'm about to say something in reply, but I then halt myself. I give them one last look as I make my way to the front door without saying a word.
I open the front door; swing it open as I step on through shutting the door behind me with a thud.

I walk towards my cruiser in a fit of rage, as bottled up thoughts increase my anger. Michaela lied to me all this time about whom she is and her family. I thought.
As I open the cruisers driver side door, Evan and Tara appear beside my cruiser within a second. "Jake, what are you doing?" Tara asks concerned.
I pause, as I lean on the car door, "Something I probably will regret." I reply.
"You're not going to pay a visit to Michaela's family, are you?"
"Yes I am, and violence will be inevitable." I say as I get into my cruiser and shut the door, before I start the engine, I fumble for my Iphone X as I select MichaelaXOX in my contacts list.
"Jake, I recommend you rethink what you're about to do, don't do anything you will regret, especially when your mates family is involved." Tara states with a concerned tone as I hear her through the car window.
I give her a glare, as I hold my phone in my hand; she halts and doesn't say anything more.

I knew my mate was at work, but I had to call her, especially what I had found out. As the dial tone made its familiar 'burrp burrp' sound, I waited patiently, for Michaela to answer, that is if she wasn't busy with work or doing a current job.

I held my phone down to take a glance at the time, it read: 11:40AM, so she could be on her morning break, as I place the phone back up to my ear again.
"Hey, honey." Michaela's cheerful voice sounded as she answered her phone.
"Hey, love." I reply uncertain on how I'm going to put all that has happened into context.
"Everything alright?" she asks me.
I had decided to calm down some, to explain to her. "No, I will be honest everything is not okay."
Her reply sounded cold and worried. "What do you mean? What's happened? Has your new changes caused any problems?"
I flick down my driver's side window, so Evan and Tara can hear my conversation with Michaela.
I sigh heavily. "No, it's not the changes or being a vampire that has caused any problems, I have met some old acquaintances of yours, not going to say names, but I'm on my way to your parents for some answers, as some lies have been told and no one has been honest with me ever since my change as a vampire."

"Jake, ever since from the start of your transition, I and my family have been up front and honest with you, we have not lied to you and what old acquaintances are you talking about, I want to know who they are and what they have told you about me."
"I trust and believe you, Michaela, meet me at your parents house in five, we will talk about this there to answer the questions I have."
"Okay, Jake, I will see you there, remember," Her tone becomes a bit harsh, "I turned you into a vampire, what you have seen is the truth." She ends the phone call as the line goes 'beep, beep.'
I place my phone in the centre console cup holder, as I rest a hand on the steering wheel.
Evan walks closer to my police car as he places a hand on the door, "Well, what did Michaela say?" he asks.
"She will meet me at her parents' house," I reply staring out the windshield, I then turn to look up at him, "She wants you and Tara there too, she wants to find out who you are, no doubt she will instantly recognize both of you once we get there."
