Agent Barton was up in his 'nest' as Erik referred to it and since he got called Hawk it was fitting. The astrophysicist Erik Selvig was scuttling about the Tesseract while I stood bugging Clint which was amusing. Mostly he just glared at me, but I could tell he was getting ready to snap at me. "Birdie! Birdie! Come on sing a song!" I laughed and he shot me the worst set of daggers he has ever given me, if looks could kill I would be more than six feet under.
"Sapphire don't make me come down there!" Clint warned in a calm, stern tone making me gulp and nod. I wasn't really supposed to be down in the Vacuum chamber; I was supposed to stick to the upper floors, but I was bored and Clint was one of the only people I knew here although Erik was pretty nice and liked to try and teach me stuff about what his work was with the Tesseract and how it worked. Apparently they were trying to harness it's power to create some form of clean energy like an arc reactor which Mr Stark had engineered. The way I see it, with great power comes great devastation since humans have a habit of creating new weapons to give them the upper hand in any wars that befall them.
After sitting around for a while watching Erik fuss over the glowing blue cube I groaned flopping onto my back and rubbing my eyes; I was bored again and Clint was focused on his job of watching the Tesseract. "Clint!" He jumped then focused on me while I smirked up at him while pulling myself up off the floor. "I'll be in the training room up top, when you've finished for the day I want to go to Starbucks and you're the unlucky one who will be escorting me." I smiled up at him and he laughed a little before nodding.
"Fine, don't strain yourself." He returned to focusing on the neon cube so I wandered off.
"Bye Doctor Erik." I waved and he looked up from the Tesseract and waved whilst smiling.
"See you later Sapphy!" He called after me and I groaned as I heard Clint laugh. Erik had nicknamed me Sapphy, but I didn't argue with him because out of the two weeks that I've spent at the Project P.E.G.A.S.U.S Facility, other than Agent Barton, Erik was the only other person who actually showed interest in talking to me; he found me fascinating for some reason, not that I was complaining.
Once in the training room I took my black track suit top off revealing my grey tank top and a few light scars, barely noticeable. I tide my shoe laces tight and brushed dust off my track suit bottoms before wrapping up my wrists and hands before confronting a punch bag. When it came to training a punch bag was my best friend, mainly because I could let my anger loose on it and it wouldn't complain and nobody would get hurt. Everything that had caused pain in my life or made me angry came forward and I began my assault on the punch bag, but still kept my rage under control so that I didn't cause any unnecessary damage. A few minutes later my emotions spiked and the punch bag shot across the room with a wave of sand bleeding out of it as it slumped down to the floor. "Damn it!" I screamed at the walls letting my throat go raw with the scream; thankfully no one was in the room otherwise they would have had very sore ears.
Since the punch bag was now out of use I was running around the indoor track with my earphones plugged into my Ipod playing Imagine dragons-Amsterdam. My pace was constantly fluctuating depending on my thoughts, at one point I'd be fast and then my train of thought would change and I'd slow down, but that was brought to a stop as Agent Phil Coulson popped his head into the room and waved his arms around to gain my attention. Pulling my earphones out I grinned at him as I jogged over and he returned my smile, before frowning. "Sapphire you need to get out of here, Agent Barton will be sent up soon to meet you in the parking lot." My happy mood was now beyond salvageable as I tried to read his face for answers.
"Phil what's happening?" He glanced around before fully coming into the room and closing the door.
"The Tesseract has become unstable and is creating dangerous radiation also, it's beginning to pull this facility apart." Phil told me and my jaw hit the floor.
"Can't you just turn it off?" My thoughts answered my question as I remembered what Erik had told me. "No it generates its own energy, stupid question sorry." I sighed as he nodded. "Well you better get going then, I'll wait for Clint." Coulson waved 'bye' to me before rushing off down the hall so I navigated my way through the halls and corridors until I was in the corridor that lead to the parking lot.
People were screaming and shouting in panic as many Agents ran up and down the corridors carrying things and evacuating NASA scientists so they weren't harmed' all the while I waited for Agent Barton to get his butt up here. Finally after what felt like a millennium, Barton appeared with Erik and some pale skinned guy in an awesome Renaissance outfit which consisted of the colours black, gold and green; it was a good combination and the guy looked pretty damned good in it. I noticed that Barton had the case containing the Tesseract. "Clint, you took forever, I was gonna leave without you," I joked, but he didn't even look at me so I frowned looking at Fancy dress boy, "Who's Fancy dress and where are you taking the Tesseract, shouldn't Fury be transporting the cube?" Again Clint didn't bother to answer me much less acknowledge my existence, but Fancy dress glared at me so i narrowed my eyes as an instinct kicked in and forced me to act when it demanded.
Once Fancy dress was within range I rapidly lifted my leg kicking his scepter away. A smirk flew to my lips at the sudden look of surprise which seemed to have caught him off guard as he inhaled a long breath and composed himself to smirk confidently at me which was off-putting to say the least. I felt like a rabbit facing the jaws of a wolf and that was not a pleasant feeling to have. Pushing down my fears I swung my fist clocking him square in the jaw and he stumbled back a bit. Confidence building I brought back my other hand and threw it forward in a controlled hit, but he snatched my wrist and twisted it until an audible popping sound was heard and sharp arrows of pain sprinted up my right arm, he'd broken my wrist! Fancy dress sneered as my anger built to a bubbling fury. My leg shot up connecting with his chest and he was sent reeling back until he crashed into one of the concrete walls. Clearly angered by it, he sprung back up and caught me by my throat before i had chance to evade his attack. Shoving me back he tightened his grip on my throat and pinned me to the wall. Fancy dress stared at me while he chocked me before he blinked in shock at something and suddenly his grip was gone and I'd slumped to the floor gasping at the air which had been restricted from my heaving lungs. "Grab her, she comes with us." Fancy dress shocked me as authority dripped from his voice and Barton handed the Tesseract case over to Erik who was quick to take it. I coughed a little before cursing at the fact my body was lacking the necessary energy to move.
Chances of escaping Fancy dress were becoming slim so I switched to a quick and final defense and purple flames suddenly burst to life from my skin as neon purple patterns swirled over my skin like tattoos. The light of the flames was a welcome home to me, but to others it was a vicious warning to stay away or be burned and both Fancy dress and Barton stepped back startled; Clint had never seen me do this, none of the SHIELD agents had, it was one of a few last resorts in desperate situations. Other than the behavioral changes I noticed that Barton's eyes were the same colour as the Tesseract and the blue gem on Fancy dress' scepter; Erik's were the same too. "How interesting." Fancy dress muttered before his attention was snapped up by a clicking sound so i looked over seeing Barton aiming his gun at me I heard the shot then felt a burst of electricity coarse through my body stunning my nervous system and essentially knocking me unconscious as the purple fire subsided. darkness had finally won me over with the help of Fancy dress and Agent Barton... He is now number one on my douche bag list."Hello you lovely readers, so this is my first Marvel fan fiction which I am hoping you will enjoy so please leave me a comment telling me your thoughts; it will be much appreciated.
