"Okay, I can do this."

"Jax, sweet little Jax." Ollie put his light brown hand on Jax's shoulder. "You really aren't ready, Gilly will tear you in pieces if this is as nervous you're going to be." He shook his head as if saying "honey your going to die out in the real world." He probably was.

"If your so all knowing tell me, how'd you get Kalya to go to the ball with you." Jax said with a sideways smile.

"Jax, we were dating for three months beforehand it kind of went without saying." Ollie started to pace the room, trying to coach Jax was hard work. "But me being the amazing boyfriend I am, I still illegally bought fireworks."

"So, should I get fireworks?" Jax said hopefully.

'Nah the guy I bought them from got arrested."

"To bad" Jax said with a frown. "Do you have any ideas?"

"Flowers are almost never a bad idea."

"Flowers, Gilly wouldn't.."

"You didn't let me finish." Ollie said annoyedly. "She'll probably want it simple." He sat down on his twin sized bed. He put his hand on his chin as if in deep thought. "I'd just ask her, no flowers, no romantic letter, and no fireworks."

He thought about it for a little. "That isn't a bad idea." Jax said with a smile on his face.

"The Padawan becomes the Jedi, now go I have taught you half of everything I know." Jax rolled his eyes and left the room. Oh wow, he was actually doing this.

When he finally got to Gilly's door he started to realize what a bad idea this was. He imagined Ollie moaning at his unwillingness to proceed in his goal. He sighed, straightened his light blue dress shirt and knocked slowly.

It was a full 47 seconds before Gilly swing the door open, she looked beautiful in her simple brown dress she wore on weekends. He started to open his mouth but Gilly started talking first.

"I swear that duck is gonna get it if he tries to eat my hair one more time." she said angrily. She looked really cute when she was angry, Jax thought. Gilly stopped and looked Jax in the eyes with a concerned look, causing him to blush, he probably looked like he was going to have a nervous breakdown. This whole ball thing was very nerve wracking. "Jax, are you okay?" She look one step closer to him. "You can tell me anything."

"I don't think I can tell you this without dying of embarrassment." he said, trying to smile but failing. Gilly looked confused.

She took his hands lightly and looked him in the eyes and pursed her lips. "Jax whatever it is, tell me."

Jax was quiet for a long moment then tightened his grip on Gilly's hands. He looked at her beautiful brown eyes and summoned up the confidence.

"Gilly, I have liked you since the moment I saw under that chandelier I was climbing the day you came to FTRS." He looked at their hands and looked back at Gilly. He got down on one knee.

"Will you, Gilly Cobbler, go to the ball with me?" She smiled in awe. Gilly's face was a cross of confusion and joy.

"Jaxon Porter, it would be an honor." she pulled him up with her hands and held them behind her back. She tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear and bite her lip. "Also, uh, I've liked you for a while too." Gilly raised her hands to Jax's face and lightly pushed his lips to hers. It was a short simple kiss, perfect is how'd both of them would describe it.

Gilly slowly took her hands off of Jax's face and put one on Jax's own hand and smiled. Jax could feel Ollie congratulating him when he turned to the slightly opened door. Both of their happy faces turned bright red.

Staring through the maybe 5 inch opened door stood a happy Ollie, a fangirling AG, an excited looking Kalya, a proud Maxine, a smug looking Jocylen and a shocked Jack. Jack's face brought a smile to Jax's. Joclyn held her hand out to Ollie who somehow happily placed five dollars into.

"I told you Gilly would kiss him first."

"Hey!" Gilly yelled. "Not cool."

"Yes, yes it is." said Jax with a wide smile. Gilly lightly punched him in the arm.

"I guess you're right."

He smiled. Yes, he was right.
