We arrived at Parkers house about twenty minutes later. After Hunter had convinced me to come, anyway. I reluctantly agreed, knowing he wouldn't stop asking me to, and quickly changed into a pair of comfortable gray shorts and a pink sweater. Then I made my way to Vee's house, my palms sweaty as I thought about the next few hours of my life.

This could go some what good, or just flat out awful.

Shutting the car doors behind us as we stepped onto the paved driveway, I hit the lock button on my keys and followed behind Vee to his front door. Not even bothering to knock, she opened the door and stepped in, calling his name. His parents weren't home, I was guessing since his car was the only one in the driveway, and Vee would never just walk in if they were.

"In here!" We heard his voice sound from the living room and I swallowed the lump in my throat.

Turn around, now.

No, I couldn't. They'd know something was up.

Vee walked in the living room, immediately jumping onto the couch next to him and I followed in, carrying the bag full of stuff we had planned out. Don't look up, and you'll be fine. I heard her giggle and I wanted to lean forward and vomit right there, but, that probably wouldn't look so good.

I sat on the chair opposite of the couch and pulled out my phone from my back pocket.

I hate you.

I quickly sent the text to Hunter and slowly looked up at the two. My eyebrows furrowed together as Vee played with his nose, and an annoyed expression covered Parkers face. Am I missing something?

"So.." I started, breaking the silence. They both looked over at me and I stared back. Well, okay then. "Since we're going to be here a while, what do you guys wanna do?"

"We should play hide and seek!" Vee suggested with a smile on her face and she jumped off the couch, grabbing Parkers hand. I swallowed. She managed to pull Parker off the couch and I stood up.

"I'll count! You two hide." Vee smiled at us as she went into the kitchen closet, starting to count.

Well shit.

Now it was just the two of us. I heard Vee start counting and I looked over at Parker, who was already staring at me.

"We should probably go hide," He stated as we both heard Vee hit the twenties.

"Right." Watching Parker take off up the stairs, I quickly followed. Our steps were quit and light, careful not to make any noise.

I remember coming over here as a kid and playing this game. We probably played it enough to last us a lifetime. With that being said, there wasn't really any rooms we could hide in without being found.  We've used basically every hiding spot there was in this house, inside and out.

Hearing Vee shout from downstairs that she was coming, I started panicking and turned around to see that Parker was already gone. That traitor. Biting my bottom lip, I quickly ran into his parents room and slid behind the door. Meaning I was probably gonna get caught first, but, oh well.

"I'm-" I heard Vee stop mid sentence and then what sounded like someone falling down the stairs.

I covered my mouth, trying not to blow my cover as I heard a low chuckle from the hallway closet.

Parker.

My face was probably turning red now as I held my laughter in and then I heard Vee groan, only making it harder.

"Shit," Vee muttered and I heard her footsteps getting closer. "I can hear you guys laughing, assholes."

I saw her come up the last step and stifled another laugh as I saw how messed up her hair was. She adjusted her shirt as she looked around, trying to find us. I held my breath as I continued to look back and forth between Vee and the closet Parker currently occupied.

"I could've sworn I heard you dweebs laughing," Vee groaned and pushed the bathroom door open. Shifting my feet quietly, I bit my lip as she emerged from the bathroom, looking in my direction. "I really need to get my ears checked."

Turning around, Vee walked downstairs and I let out the breath I was holding.

"Parker?" I whispered, just in case she was secretly by the stairs. Poking my head out from the door, I saw him crack open the door.

"Lexi?" He whispered back, looking at me. "You're hiding spot sucks."

"Thanks, I noticed." I muttered, peeking out into the hallway. "But she didn't find me yet, so I guess I'm good."

"She's going to find you first," He smirked and I just shook my head.

After a moment of silence of us just looking at each other, glancing away a few times to make sure Vee wasn't coming, he spoke up. "Wanna, um hide with me?"

Holy fuck. Was I hearing things? Vee, I think you and I both need to get our ears checked.

Parker fucking Halstead was asking me to get into a, and may I clarify, small ass closet. Cue raging lady hormones.

I heard Vee opening and closing doors downstairs and looked up at Parker who was standing with the door wide open, stating at me. "Yeah, sure." I nodded and he stepped in, me going after him.

I shut the door and bit my lip, trying not to laugh as he bumped into something, causing it to fall on his head.

"It's not funny," He whispered and I tried to ignore the fact that his chest was pressed up against my back, his breath hitting my neck as he spoke. I slowly turned around and looked up at him, seeing that he was smiling down at me.

Jesus Christ. Parker Halstead, you are going to make my ovaries explode.

"Yeah," I nodded and turned around. "It kind of is."

"Well," He said slowly and I felt his fingers press on my sides. "I have to disagree."

--

"You two are fucking ridiculous." Vee groaned as I pulled into her driveway.

Ridiculous is definitely not the word.

"Or you're just blind," I smirked and put the car in park, turning to look at her.

"I looked for, like, an hour! You were no where and I swear I heard you guys laughing."

"I guess you'll never know."

"Yeah, whatever." She rolled her eyes and slung her bag over her shoulder, opening the door. "I'll see you tomorrow."

"Yeah." I nodded and looked down.

Tomorrow.
