My days of hiding away and pretending I didn't exist were long over when my alarm woke me up this morning. After Saturday, I kind of locked myself in my room with the intention of ignoring everyone. It worked, for the most part. Hunter and my mom came in a few times to bring me food, but I just nodded at them and they left.

Vee texted me a few times to probably talk about what happened, but I just tossed my phone aside and went back to my bed, not bothering to answer her. Then there was Parker. Oh God. I didn't think it would get this bad. When he called me earlier yesterday, everything in me was telling me to answer him, but I didn't. I actually declined it.

I should be proud, but the selfish part of me was hoping that he would confess his secret love for me after that kiss.

Could you be more selfish?

Shaking my head, I tugged my hoodie down over my body and fixed my hair before grabbing the car keys and my bag. Hunter was downstairs at the counter, doing something on his phone and I raised my eyebrows at him.

"No practice?" I asked, referring to the fact that he's usually gone by six thirty for workouts on Monday's. He didn't even look up at me and I rolled my eyes, taking an apple from the bag and throwing it at the back of his head. "Dude,"

"What?"

"Okay," I pointed, "You can't even act like you didn't just hear me."

"Just did."

Deciding to ignore his sour mood, I sighed and slid in the seat across from him and started tapping my nails on the counter. I didn't see what got him so moody, usually it's me in a bad mood. This only means that something really bad must have happened, or he's being his usual self and over reacting.

"Do you mind?" He asked, looking up to glare at me. Squinting my eyes, I flashed a smile and began tapping my nails more obnoxiously.

"No, carry on." I said, using my free hand to support my head while I continued to annoy him with my other. Anything to get him to pay attention to me.

"Alexis!" He groaned and stood up, holding his hand out. "Either give me the keys, or stop being annoying and drive us to school."

I rose my eyebrows at his demand and stood up, letting a smirk play on my lips. "If you can't be seen with me when you drive, I can't be seen with you when I drive. Deal?" I was being a major bitch about it, but it's only being fair. Whenever Vee can't pick me up and I have no one else, he always tells me to walk or just not go to school. The real kicker is when he says it's embarrassing to be seen with his sister, thinking girls will think we're dating and not like him anymore. Yeah, to think my brother couldn't be any more conceited.

He has nothing to worry about, though. Incest isn't really my thing, and if people really knew Hunter, they'd be running.

"Lexi, just give me a damn ride to school."

"Looks like someone's missing a day of school," I smiled sweetly and dangled the keys in his face before walking away. Just as I was about to open the front door, he shoved me aside and ran outside, shutting the door in my face behind him.

Groaning, I pulled open the door to see him picking the lock, succeeding, and getting in the passengers seat with a smirk on his face.

"I hate you." I said flatly when I got inside the car.

"I know."

We got to school with a few minutes to school, and today, Hunter decided to actually walk with me into school. Not even bothering to look at the questioning glances we were getting from the lower classmen, or my confused face, he kept walking next to me the whole way. He even waited for me to get out of the car.

"I'm going to the library.." I trailed off and pointed ahead, since he was still following me.

"I could use a book," He nodded and I rose my eyebrows at his choice of still being seen with me. I even had to stop and stare at the back of his head for a second. Did I leave Hunter to sleep in? Because the guy next to me is not him.

"Do you even read?"

"We've lived together for seventeen years, you should know if I do or not."

"Not one moment of my life has been seeing you read a book," I said slowly. "No offense."

"None taken,"

"Then.." I trailed off and shook my head and looked forward. My breath almost caught in my throat when I saw Parker in front of us, walking towards the library. "Why are you still following me?"

"The library isn't just yours."

Rolling my eyes, I looked to see Parker staring at me, a slight smirk on his face as he held the door open.

"Hey," He said when we passed him, Hunter ignoring him and walking past, turning down an aisle and disappearing. As for me, I stopped and waited for Parker to enter the library.

"Hey, what are you doing here?" Wow, if the answer isn't obvious enough. It's a library, idiot. Mentally smacking myself, I lowered my head so he wouldn't see the new shade of red my face became and waited for him to answer.

"Killing time," He replied, licking his lips and I had to strain from melting into a puddle of Lexi.

Nodding my head, I glanced up to see him already looking down at me, and I couldn't make out the emotion in his eyes. "So..this probably isn't the time." He said randomly and I scrunched my eyebrows together.

"Isn't the time for what?"

"To talk about what happened Saturday.." He said slowly, trailing off at the end and shoving his hands in his pockets.

"Oh..yeah." I slowly nodded my head, agreeing with him. Seeing as I woke up not too long ago and we're in a school library, this was definitely not the time to discuss something like that. We probably could, actually, but there's always ears listening and people who like to talk around.

I didn't know what to say. It felt like the temperature in the room increased, or it might just be my face turning completely red. Why? I have no idea. Whenever I'm around Parker my face likes to do this thing where it makes everything obvious.

Parker was about to say something, when we both heard a faint whispering coming from the front of the library.

"Lexi,"

"Sister,"

"You hear that..right?" Parker rose his eyebrows as he looked at me and I slowly nodded, looking up front. We heard it again, and this time, Hunter slowly poked his head around a bookshelf and I groaned.

"Sister,"

"What are you doing?" I rolled my eyes as I walked towards him, Parker following.

"Trying to get your attention," He whispered, rather obnoxiously, even though I was standing right in front of him.

"Hunter," I licked my lips and looked behind me. "I'm right here."

Just then, I noticed the guy standing behind him, looking questioningly at the both of us. He was holding a schedule in his hands and carrying a bag on his back. To say he was attractive would definitely be an understatement. Before I got caught staring, I closed my mouth and rose my eyebrows at my brother.

"Who is this?" I nodded my head in his direction.

"Aw, does Lexi have a crush?" Hunter teased and I felt the heat rise to my cheeks. Not again.

"No, what.." I groaned. "I don't even know him!"

"I'm Alec," He trailed off, nodding his head. "I, uh, just moved here."

"That he did," Hunter nodded and I heard Parker sigh behind me. "And you, sister, are going to show him around."
