SHAWN NEVER DROVE FASTER THAN he did that night. His mind was racing and his hands were shaking the entire time. And the rain outside didn't help his mood. The thunder roared and lightning danced across the sky, lighting the empty streets.

Shawn had called Dom, telling him everything Lily told him. He would be coming to the hospital a little later. Shawn wanted to go with him, he needed someone there with him. But he couldn't wait. He had to see her.

At the front of the hospital, Eve stood waiting for him to join her. She led him to the waiting room where Lily sat, he leg bouncing up and down from nerves. Her eyes were red and puffy, a clear sign she had been crying, and she tired. It wasn't a pretty sight.

"Lily," Shawn breathed out. "What's going on? What happened? Where is she?" He asked.

"They won't tell me anything. She's still in surgery. All I know was that she was in a car accident. Four cars were involved," she told.

"Oh my god. They didn't tell you how bad it was?" Shawn questioned.

Lily shook her head. "No, but I saw them bring in the other people involved. They didn't look so good," she sighed.

Shawn felt uneasy. He sat himself down, placing his head in between his hands, and let the few tears he was holding back out. Lily and Eve sat besides him, rubbing his back as they tried to comfort him.

"I'm such an idiot," Shawn mumbled. "I completely avoided her today. I should've been there for her. She wouldn't have been out there if it wasn't for me."

"It's not your fault Shawn."

"Yes it is. I took Jessica's side instead of hers and I hurt her so badly. And if something happens to her, she'll never know how sorry I am or how much I love her," he cried. "I just hope she's okay."

"She will be. She's a strong girl. Everything will be okay," Eve reassured.

Time passed and Shawn still didn't feel any better. There was still no news of Rosie, and Shawn was starting to freak out. Dom had finally arrived and was trying his best to calm his friend down, but he couldn't lie that he himself wasn't worried. Everyone was just out of it. It wasn't until a doctor came out, calling for Rosie's family that they all snapped out of their daze.

"How is she?" Lily asked.

"She's stable. She's out of surgery and it looks like she's gonna be okay. She did suffer a few broken ribs, a fractured leg along with a sprained wrist and concussion. Right now she is going in and out of consciousness, but you can go see her if you'd like. But for now only two at a time please," the doctor explained.

"You two go first," Eve said, motioning to Lily and Shawn. "We'll wait."

Shawn nodded and followed Lily and doctor down the hall. When she opened the door, they were met with Rosie laying on the bed, connected to a bunch of different things.

Shawn's heart ached at the sight.

"I'll leave you guys alone," the doctor said, leaving and closing the door behind her.

"Now I understand what Rosie meant when she said seeing me on a hospital bed was one of the worst sights she's seen," Lily sighed.

Shawn walked over to her side, gently moved a strand of hair away from her face. His thumb caressed her cheek, and his other hand found hers, which laid still.

"Wake up baby, please," he whispered.

His lips gently kissed her forehead before he began to walk away. But a sudden soft squeeze of his hand held him back. He looked down at their interlocked hands and saw her fingers moving slightly. His eyes wandered up to her face to find her eyes trying to flutter open.

When her eyes finally opened, they scanned across the whole room before landing on Shawn. Her eyebrows furrowed in confusion, and she opened her mouth to say something, but only a strained sound came out.

"Here drink this," Lily said, bringing a white cup to Rosie's mouth.

After a sip or two, Rosie was finally able to make words out, which were still raspy.

"Where am I?" She asked in whispered.

"You're in the hospital baby. You were in a car accident. Do you remember what happened?" He asked, bringing a chair to her side.

Rosie shook her head. She didn't remember much of the past night. The only thing she could make out was a bright headlight that belonged to one of the cars that hit her.

"How do you feel?" Lily asked.

"I can't move my leg?"

"You fractured it," Lily told. "And your wrist is sprained."

Rosie looked to Lily and tried to smile. "Oh how the tables have turned," Rosie said.

"It's not funny," Lily said.

"No kidding."

Rosie then turned from Lily to Shawn. While she may not have remembered the crash, she did remember everything before that. But in this moment, that didn't seem to matter.

Rosie really took in his appearance. He had tears running down his face and his clothes seemed to have been something he picked at random. His eyes were bloodshot red and his hair was a mess.

"I'm gonna give you two a moment alone," Lily said, leaving the room.

Once Lily left, Shawn broke down.

"I'm so sorry Rosalie. I'm so fucking sorry," he said, dropping his head by her hand.

Her hand gently cupped his cheek, wiping away the tears that fell from his eyes. "I'm sorry too. I said things I didn't mean."

"You had every right to. I should've been there for you. None of this would've happened if it wasn't for me," he cried. "We would've spent you birthday night at my apartment, watching all your favorite movies, and eating all your favorite foods. Just like I was planning. But I was too stupid. And because of me you're here, stuck in a hospital bed."

"Shawn it's not your fault," Rosie told.

"God what if something happened? Something worse?" Shawn questioned.

"Hey, I'm okay. I'm alright," Rosie said, caressing his face. "Don't think about what could've happened. Just focus on the now. Right now, I'm okay," Rosie told. Shawn kissed her hand, holding it tightly in between his.

"I'm confronting Jessica. I can't be friends with her, if all she's going to do it try and ruin your life. I should've realized it sooner. I'm done with her," Shawn told. "God I love you so much Rosalie Reyes."

Rosie smiled at his words. "Took a hospital room to say that huh?"

Shawn just shook his head. "I should've said before," he sighed.

"Right now is perfect," Rosie said, shaking her head. "But I love you too Shawn Mendes."
