Chapter 25

I woke up alone - again. No Jacob was not away doing whatever he does, he was downstairs on the sofa, I told him I could not sleep in the same bed with someone so high on drugs he doesn't even know his own name, well he immediately got up and dragged his body out of the room and down the stairs, roughly twenty minutes after Jaden briefly came in and asked if I was okay before going to check on Jacob.

I got out of bed, in my basketball shorts and vest top and went straight to Aston's room, he was already up on the floor with his toy truck."Come on smelly boy we've got to get you ready," I said picking him up, Beans got up and walked through the door. Jaden was just coming out of his room, "Morning Mace... You doing anything today?" He asked pinching Aston's cheek, "Gonna take Aston to the park with Beans as soon as I've got him ready... Seriously can't be around Jake at the moment." I said, Jaden nodded "Want me to come with you?" He replied, "I think it would be best if you just stayed with Jacob for today Jay, thanks though." I said then walked down the stairs, "Ite." I heard his reply then go into the bathroom.

I sat Aston down and started preparing his fruit, I liked him to start the day healthy even if he did eat unhealthy during the day... I had my back to Aston as he started mumbling to himself, "Dad Dad!" He cried out, before I could turn round Jacob had his arms around me kissing my neck... He smelt of alcohol. "Have you been out all night or just drinking in the lounge?" I said trying to move away, he gripped me tighter, "A little bit of both... Stop trying to get away from me, Aston needs to see his parents are happy and you're my wife I'm allowed to to touch you." He said sharply, "I need to give Aston his breakfast..." I said quietly and calmly, I wasn't going to cause a scene in front of Aston. "So what you doing today?" He asked, "Gonna take Aston out for a bit, to the park and mall." I said not looking at him, I gave Aston his fruit and was immediately lead out of the kitchen into the hall, the door closed behind me. "What the fuck is wrong with you Maci?! Acting off with me when I haven't done shit! I'm a loyal husband, I mean I barely look at other women, I talk to you and only you and haven't cheated, not once!" I got out of his grasp and took hold of his hand and lead him upstairs to our bathroom, I stood him in front of the mirror and moved in front of him... I was so much shorter than him. I wrapped his arms around me and pulled him closer, "How would you like it if you saw the person you was in love with slowly killing themselves, slowly drifting apart from you and slowly losing who they are?" I spoke softly, a single tear rolling down my cheek, "Me and Aston need you Jacob, he needs his father and I need my husband... You're the best thing that's ever happened in my life, aside Aston... But I can't go on, not like this... I need space and time away for a while, I'm going to take Aston out then we're going to spend the night at a nearby hotel, I need my old Jacob Perez back." I said turning around and facing him, well I faced his chest but looking up I saw his face, saddened by what I just said. "You said you'd never leave me for nothing or no one, you're leaving me..." He said quietly with tears rolling down his cheek, "I said that before Aston, Aston has to come first we just need... A break." I said then walked out of the bathroom.

I went to the closet and took out a plain white crop top, black high waisted jeans, white converse and a leather jacket. I heard a smash in the bathroom and Jacob come out with blood over his hands. "I NEED YOU!" He screamed then fell to the floor burying his face in his blood covered hands, "Look what you're doing not only to yourself but to me and Aston and your boys, I don't understand! Why now? Why after nearly four years of marriage, five years of us being together... Why now?" I sat down with him taking off my shorts and vest top and hugging his torso, "I... I have a problem and I need help, please Maci, please help me." I took ahold of his hands, his blood getting on mine, "Aston needs me more..." I said softly, Jacob took my hand and slid off my wedding ring "This means through sickness and in health... Maci if you can not help me, I can not be with you." He said sternly, I got up and took my clothes into the bathroom to get changed, as soon as I got out Jacob was in the same position crying, I took a bag and threw some clothes in then quickly walked out of the room... Where was I going to go? I couldn't afford to stay in a hotel with Aston for too long, I walked downstairs to Jaden who had Aston on his lap, "Baby go pick out your favourite toys and put them in a bag, we're going on a little trip!" I said picking up Aston and kissing his trip, "London!" Aston screamed out, "No honey not like the trip to London, we won't be going far." I said, "Why?" He managed to get out, "Because honey Daddy is very busy and we need to keep out of his way for a while so he can do his work." I said, Aston nodded and ran out of the room calling 'Dad' he really loved Jacob.

"Mace... You can stay at my apartment for a little bit if you need it? I mean it's nowhere near as luxurious as this nor as big but its big enough for you and Aston... But I mean it's yours as long as you want or need it, free of charge." Jaden said standing up and towering over me. Jaden was a little taller than Jacob, usually wearing ripped skinny jeans with converse and a shirt, his skin a light shade of brown and eyes a glistening brown, his hair used to be long and braided but he recently cut it and dyed the tips blonde, he was skinny but toned since I had seen his body when we all go swimming in the summer, he was very attractive but to me nothing on Jacob.

After a bit of packing and driving we had finally got to Jaden's apartment, the area was pleasant. When we got out of the car people were already calling Jaden over saying hi and asking how things were, what he was getting up to etc. They then spotted me and Aston, "Is this your girl and son?" They asked smiling, "Na man this is Jacob Perez's wife and son," Jaden replied calmly, "Oh shit... Jacob? Girl look all the advice I could possibly give is do not get on the wrong side of that man... He will not hesitate to make your life a living hell, he will literally-" Jaden cut in, "She does not need to hear these things about her husband, Aston about his dad or me about my brother, nice speaking to you but we have to go..." Jaden took my hand and lead me to his actual apartment.

We made our way up the stairs, there were a few other apartments here but everything just seemed so warm and friendly. "Maci?" I turned around to see a man standing there, good build, curls on top of his head also dyed blonde, big plump lips, stood a little taller than Jaden. "Maci Owens?" He said again, I just couldn't put my finger on who this was, "sorry man, I didn't mean to call out your girls name like that," He said to Jaden, "It's cool Chres," Jaden said giving him a fist bump, "Chresanto?" I said giving Aston to Jaden, "Chresanto August?" I said, he nodded, "AHH!!" I screamed then hugged him tight, Chresanto August was my high school sweetheart as they call it, we went our separate ways after we graduated, well I graduated before him... We tried to keep in touch and together but things didn't work out, that's when I met Craig. The way he hugged me back sent chills up my spine and back down again, his arms were so toned and his body felt so ripped under his top. I let go and saw Jaden texting on his phone, probably yet another female.

"I haven't seen you in years Mace, you look so... so... Hot." He laughed, "Maci I really gotta get going, the boys can't handle Jacob right now... I'll give you a call later to see how you are, here's the keys." Jaden said passing me the keys and putting Aston down, then leaving. "Who's Jacob?" Chres asked me, "My sons father, Aston come meet Chresanto, he's mommy's old friend." I said as Aston ran over and shook Chres' hand, I couldn't say husband because in all honesty... What was I to Jacob anymore? "Well funnily enough I have just got off my night shift at the hospital and my apartment is right next to Jaden's so here we go." He said leading me to Jaden's apartment.

I had a nice day catching up with Chres' until he fell asleep and soon had to leave to do another night shift, he was a nurse I know what you're thinking a male nurse? But he's working his way up slowly but gradually he said. He had had a few girlfriends since me but nothing as serious as ours, no children and had been living here for one and a half years now. I had fed Aston, given him his bath and put him in bed. I was currently in the bath myself when I heard the door close and the voices of Jaden, Myles, Daniel and Jacob.

"Maci!?" Jacob called out, I sighed "Bathroom!" I called back leaning my head back and breathing deeply, when I opened my eyes Jacob stood there looking down on my body and biting his lip, the dim light from the scented candle lit up the room. "Who the fuck is Chresanto August?" He said, his voice deeper and bending down putting his hand in the water and rubbing my stomach - doctor said I wasn't pregnant but Jacob made me do more tests that all came back positive so he didn't believe the doctor - "An old friend, little does it have to do with you since we aren't together anymore." I said bluntly although his touch was making me melt, "If he's only an old friend then we can talk so he knows you are still my wife and mother of my child!" He shouted, I stood up and got out of the bath, wrapping a towel around me. "Don't be dumb Maci, you don't need a towel..." Jacob said stripping and coming closer to me, he turned me on but I just wasn't in the mood. "Jacob..." I moaned as he softly took my waist and kissed my neck, he took my towel and threw it to the other side of the room, "N... No," I managed to get out and move away, "I can't... You need to stop the drugs." I said, Jacob sighed and took hold of my waist again, "I will, I just need your support... I know I've been going about things the wrong way and I respect your decision for some space... Just no other men Maci."

He held me closer and rocked me back and forth... I'd never get with another man, although seeing Chresanto again after seven years is a lot to deal with.
