The 1940's Escape

Chapter 8: The Burial

                                                                                                      June 1940 (1 year before the guest arrive)
Sarah's POV
My husband Jason & I just bought a house. Life can't be better we have a maid that came with it & a beautiful garden out back. But one night after having too many cocktails. I fell asleep for about an hour until I was woken up by Jason he slammed me on the ground. Gagging & tied my legs & arms. I was unconscious when he carried me outside to the garden. All of a sudden I hear a woman's voice saying. "Are you ready?" "Of course babe." Jason said as he throw me in a hole. Once he did I woke up & everything around me went dark as I slowly stopped breathing.

Mae's POV 11:00
10 minuets have passed since the end of the last challenge took place. Tim was still passed out from the left-Hook. At this point everyone just wanted to survive & escape. "Why did you do this Mae....?" Dana said with her back turned towards the window. "Dana I'm sorry..I just thought it would be fun because we haven't seen everyone all summer & I missed it." I said as I stood up to face her. "No it's your fault that our friends are dead!..it's all you." Dana said clenching her gloves as she walked over to Autumn & Tim. "Sorry..." I mutter to Adrian as I sat on the floor with my back turned away from everyone. Suddenly a piece of paper is slid under the door. Soon enough I get up from the corner & pick up the note & hand it to Dana as she begins to read. "Hello My name is Sara Franks, I have a horrible secret. My husband buried me alive because he thought it was a good way to 'get rid' of me. So there are 3 different colored gemstones hide through out the trees in the garden. To free my soul you will have to find the gems & betray one of your friends. Good Luck." "Oh great it's this shit again." Tim said as he stood up & walked over to me. "I'm afraid so." Dana said with a sad look on her face. "So basically her husband left her for another woman?...Damn." Adrian said trying to part together what just happened. "Fun." I said. "Well we're dead." Tim said putting his hand to his mouth in shock. "One of us are gonna get sacrificed if we don't do this challenge soon so let's go. Autumn said opening the door outside the lounge. Once we were outside in the garden The was a man who was wearing a white tank top & blue jeans. "He is probably here to help us with the challenge." Adrian said as we walked over to him. "Are you here to do the challenge?" He said as he poked me with his cane. "Yes sir, we are & we need to find three gems to free the spirit." Dana said as she handed the note to the man. "My name is Jas......James Yes my name is James." He said stuttering. I glared at him as we relocated to the the other side of the estate to vote in two people to find the gems. "Alright....are you guys ready?" Tim said as he picked up his card to show everyone that we were voting for ourselves. Soon enough we were finished & Randle started shuffling. Then he pulled one from the deck. "The first person going into the challenge is... Adrian." He said as the room went silent. Then a moment later he pulled the next one. "Autumn." He said showing everyone. Then Tim Dana & I grouped up to talk.

Mae: "Guys What do we do? I don't want them to go against each other because if one dies then it's going to be painful for one feel guilty."
Tim: "Mae, We have about 7 hours til sunrise & we don't have time to feel that way."
Mae: "I know...I know I have nothing against you guys but we do it to get out."
Tim & Dana: "Why don't we volunteer you into this?"
Tim: "Also Autumn has really done anything so."
Dana: "I hate this ..Mae why did you drag me into this.
Mae: " um Dana sweetie you're the one who signed the deed too."
Dana: "What I don't remember signing a deed."
Tim: "Ladies Stop... let's get this done over with."
Mae: "Tim's right."
Dana: "Are you ready?"
Mae: "Yeah."
We all hugged then went back to Adrian & Autumn who were sitting on the couch. Then I pulled Adrian aside while Tim & Dana talked to Autumn about the 'switch'. "Mae are you sure?" Adrian said as she put a hand on my shoulder. "Yeah even tho the antidote is almost take effect. But I would do anything for you guys & you wouldn't want to see each other die in front of you right?" I said walking over to the group. We hugged everyone before following James out into the back. The others stood over the balcony to watch. "Good Luck guys we all love you." They said waving. "Ok so here how it's gonna go you will have to find all three gems before the hour glass runs out." James said as he turn it over. We dashed for the trees as the sky was going blue. I was looking around & I couldn't seem to find any. "I found it.. I found it." Autumn said as she picked a blue gem.
Autumn: 1
Mae: 0
"Oh shit." I thought as I frantically dug through the dirt trying to find a gem. "Damnit." I whispered. Moments later I found two gems. Then I looked over at Autumn struggling to find the gems. So we came up with a plan.
When time ran out she gave me all 3 gems. "Oh I'm not James." He said as I gave him the gems to put on the lid of the coffin. "Then who are you? Autumn said as she put her hand on my shoulder as we both stepped back a bit. "I'm the one who buried my ex wife alive." He said as he laughed sadistically. "You're Jason...we're dead. I said as we both looked at each other in shock. "Mae you will be buried in the coffin." Jason said with a grin. "Oh Hell no." I said. "No she's the one who won not me." Autumn said as she held out her arms. " Autumn...No don't do this." I said as she turned to face me.
"Mae It'll be fine You've won fair & square. You always say that you've survived this long." She said. "Well I guess I do say that a lot." I said feeling awful that another one of my best friends is about to be shoved into a box & suffocate to death.
"Shit Adrian is gonna kill me." I thought to myself. "Ok I'm ready." She said. Then Jason grabbed her by the arm. He dragged her down into the coffin then shut it tight. Everyone screamed bloody murder as Jason grabbed a shovel & began to bury the coffin. Then I started running to the lounge. Once I stumbled into the lounge, I fell on my chest as everyone stared. "There was nothing I could do." I said as I tried to stand back up. "Guys I'm sorry.....I know it's my fault & you're all right it was all me!" I shouted as I collapsed on the floor again. "It was all your fault Mae." They all said looking down at me as I cried on the floor. "You killed my best friend Mae!" Adrian yelled as she broke down. We screamed at each other for a while as Dana & Tim stared at us going back & fourth. "Wait Stop!" I shouted. The room went silent again. "Is this our first fight? Because for as long as I've known you, we've never fought like this." I said. "I think so." Tim said as he sat down on the couch. "Look Adrian I'm really sorry but she helped me get the last two gems & we tricked Jason. Now Sara's soul is free from this murder house." I said trying to reason with my friend. The room went silent once again as Adrian pulled out a gun from her pocket. "W-where'd you get that?" I nervously said as I began to take a few steps back. "Mae I'm sorry." She said as she pointed the gun at me. "What the hell are you doing!" I screamed. Then it happened Adrian shot me in the chest. I was unconscious for a while. But I wasn't dead.
