Louis and you had always been good friends. Whenever he needed to talk about something serious, you were his first choice because he knew you wouldn't judge him.
It wasn't until when they were a bit older, maybe 15 that he first had this strange feeling.

You were sick. Sicker than anyone had ever been at the school. Ruby said she thought it was some kind of flu, but didn't know for sure. Louis spent days in your room holding your hand and squeezing it when you moved in discomfort. "Louis don't come near me you might get sick." Your croaky voice whispered. "I don't care."

From then on once you had recovered, Louis found himself glancing your way while you were working or talking to someone. If you caught him, you would smile and he couldn't help the blood rushing to his cheeks as he would look away. But he wasn't the only one who noticed this.

Marlon watched as his best friend laughed with you, telling you some of his new jokes that he had previously told Marlon. "Thanks Louis for distracting me from work, but I have to go now." You playfully hit his shoulder and went back to work.

Louis then made his way over to Marlon and plonked down on one of the steps next to him. "So you seem to be spending a lot of time with Y/N." Marlon smirked as Louis looked at him with goggle eyes. "Yeah, she's a friend." He laughed with a tinge of awkwardness. "Just a friend?" Marlon raised his eyebrow at Louis, but he stayed quiet. "Alright I will leave you to it." Marlon hopped up calling Rosie to follow.

Louis has been thinking about what Marlon had said, and he was confused. Whenever Louis needed space he always tried playing the piano, which helped. But this time he was to distracted.

"Louis?" Your voice awoke him from his daydreaming. "Are you ok?" You asked as you came further into the room. "Yep, Just bored I guess." He said facing away from you and pressing a key. "Louis." You said as you came all the way up to him. "I know you play piano when there's something on your mind, what's up?" You were now sitting next to him.

He turned his head to look at you and smiled. Im going to have to tell her sooner or later." He thought. "Promise you won't get upset Alright." He held out his pinky finger for you to shake. "Seriously, isn't this something we stopped doing in like second grade." You laughed but stopped when you saw he was serious. "Ok." You shoke his pinky with yours.

He sighed and looked back down to the keys of the piano. "I like you ok." He said almost instantaneously regretting it. When you didn't say anything, he got up to leave but you stopped him. "I like you to." You said and he couldn't help but grin as you leant in with him.
