Quickly their coming! You hurried to grab the last few tins of who knows what, so you could get out of there. You heard the all to familiar groaning noise of the walkers, and knew it was time to go. At just the age of ten, you sure had adapted to the conditions of a zombie apocalypse.
Quickly picking up your bag, you ran out of the house and caught up to your best friend Carla.
"Did you get it all." She opened the bag to see how much you had gotten. "That should last us and the others for a while." She said and clapped her hands together, happy that we won't have to skin any rabbits for a while.
The way back to Ericsons was quiet. Both of you on look out for any walkers. "What do you think we would be doing right now if the world wasn't crazy?" You asked Carla and saw the sad expression on her face. "Probably hiding in the greenhouse with Mitch, Louis and Marlon." She laughed at the old memories."
"Or maybe- suddenly you were pulled to the ground by the leathery hand of a walker. "Aghh!" You screamed as it went to bite you.
Seconds later you opened your eyes to see a large gash in its ugly face, black goo pouring out.
Carla held out her bloody hand to you, which you excepted and hugged her as you got up. "Thanks Carl's."
Present time...
You on the top of the bell tower, a place violet showed you. She told you she would come her to reflect and that's what you were doing.
Sighing you watched as the others were working on their jobs. Expect one person was missing.
"Hey what are you doing up here?" Louis appeared and came to sit next to you. "Just thinking." You softly spoke, so he could barely hear you.
"I know what happened with Carla was bad, but you need to distract yourself for a while." He slung his arm over my shoulder.
"Carla saved me so many times out there because I was being stupid, and the one time she needed my help, I wasn't there." You looked away from him trying not to cry.
"Hey, what happened to her was not you fault." He said forcing you to look at him. "Then why does it feel like it is." You whispered, a single tear rolling down your cheek.
"Cmon let me show you something." Louis grabbed my arm forcing me up. "Louis really." You grumbled as he pulled you along. "Trust me you will want to see it."
"Is the blindfold necessary Louis." You asked holding his shoulders to make sure you don't trip. "No but it makes it better." You let a small laugh out at this because he knows you love surprises.
"Here we go." He said pulling the blind fold of.When you opened your eyes you were at Carla's favourite spot to go to, the river. On the ground was a gravestone made out of wood, and carved sort of like a cat which was Carla's favourite animal.
"We wanted to bury her somewhere other than the school, you know cause she hated it there." He crouched down next to you. "It's perfect."
