I looked at her from across the classroom, the teacher's voice faded into silence as I became captivated by her beauty. Became captivated by the way she had a small smile lingering on lips as she doodled on her book, by the way a strand of hair fell onto her face but she was much to focused to push it away.

I sighed and thought to myself, ' Nora Adam, what are you doing to me?'
I watched her,a smile on my lips, knowing the fact that i like her to much to even try to calm the rapid beats of my heart. Looking at her, i couldn't help think of the first time i met her.

It was roughly 2 years ago. I had gone to my best friend's , Analise Rayman's , house over the weekend. Anna's parents were out of town and it was the perfect time to catch up between our hectic schedules. I had gone on that Friday evening just expecting it to be us, snacks and movies. But to my surprise when I arrived I saw Nora there, sitting on the bed, a book in her hand, an intrigued expression on her face as she flipped through the pages.

At that time I knew nothing about her other than her name itself, now it feels like we have known each other since we were born.

The rest of that friday evening was pretty awkward. No more than a few words were exchanged between the two of us, it was mostly Anna talking, us listening to music and and binging Netflix series. That changed pretty soon.

When night fell, out came the alcohol. A glass each was all we had,but that was more than enough to make us comfortable to talk freely. Anna fell asleep quite soon while Nora and I spoke till the early hours of the morning, long after the effects of the alcohol were out. After that we we were much more comfortable with each other.

That night of talking led to many more. Many movies, dinners, random getaways, shared drink under the stars and sleepovers much like the first, during which I fell for her more and more.

I fell for everything about her, the way her eyes crinkle every time she laughs, the look in her eyes when she's determined to do something, her bad jokes, her love for arts, the comfort inher hugs  her confidence. Every time I look at her I'm mesmerized, I loose myself in her brown eyes. They were as rich as chocolate.

Brown eyes are just brown eyes till you love someone with brown eyes.

The sound of the bell brought me back to reality. Guess I'll have to get the notes from someone. As I gathered my stuff i couldn't help but glance at Nora, what I saw was a harsh reminder that I will always be nothing more than a friend to her.

I saw Dalton Russel sitting on her table, their hands locked and that beautiful twinkle of happiness in her eyes that absolutely melts my heart.

I'm happy she found someone so nice for her I truely am, but that doesn't stop the piercing pain that's shooting right through my chest. My breath hitches as I watch them, my heart painfully clenching with each smile, each giggle. Nora's eyes meet mine and I hope the smile I gave before walking out was convincing enough, it probably wasn't.

'She's straight Reyes. It's never gonna happen.' I know that, I know, it doesn't make it hurt any less.

Hey, how was it? This was my first time writing angst or anything like this to be honest, if it's bad I apologize.

Also, drinking in my country is legal after the person is 18, so they were legally drinking if anyone wanted to know.
