B6 awoke to his sparkling crying his optics out, the loud chirps and squeals woke B6 up immidieatly.
"Shh~" B6 soothed to young one, to no avail. He knew the young one must be cold, his little frame was so thin and fragile, so B6 held him close to his spark to warm him up. Not too far away B6 heard footsteps. Light pitter patters that contrasted to the silence of thye night. B6 got up in case he needed to run, but just then a curious deer came out of the bushes and looked at the giant robot before itself. B6 stood still, as did the deer, Steelspark's was silent too, for a while. But the sight of the small organic got Steelsparks young curiosity and it reached out for the deer, his gurgling made caused it to flee. B6 sighed in relief for the lack of a threat, and decided now was the best time for the two to move.
He left in search for energon praying some wouldn't be too far away. He ended up finding a faint signal, however it was too far away for B6's liking. The Vehicon did not dare leave the sparkling alone, he sighed and walked back to Steelspark who had drifted off. he picked him up and walked along more, trying to find a stronger signal promising survival for the two.
Optimus prime sat down on a small metal bench, listening to the gleeful and victorious chatter of his team. They had successfully retrieved an energon deposit and beat the decepticons who guarded it with no casulties. He quietlty got up as to not alert his team and asked ratchet to open a ground bridge, Ratchet did understanding his leader liked having a lone drive after a victory.
"Be safe Optimus." Ratchet said
"I will old friend." he answered walking into the green light. Arcee walked up behind Ratchet and put her servo on her hip.
"He's out again?" The two wheeler asked the old medic.
"Afraid so." Ratchet sighed.
"Will he ever enjoy his victories?" The femme asked.
"He does. It's just in his own ways." Ratchet explained. Arcee watched as the portal finished dissipating and went back to celebrate with the rest of her family.
Optimus walked out from the green portal. He found he was in some forest landscape, walking slow as to not disturb the natural brush. He kept his slow pace until he got a faint signal, then he stopped. A Decepticon signal showed itself within his processors. The beacon only identified one Decepticon, but that was enough for Optimus to think about calling his team for back up. It could've easily been a trap. But Optimus thought it may have been best to investigate before calling his team on a lone Decepticon.
However, getting closer to the signals determined location, Optimus saw a mere vehicon. Optimus stepped closer, however with Optimus's heavy pedes it was innevitable for a few leaves to crunch under his step. B6 quickly turned around, he was still full of paranoia, and gave optimus full view of his mechling in his servos. Optimus dermas parted in his contained jaw drop. It had been a eons since he saw an.... online sparkling. However Optimus took a closer look and saw a familiar face, well not a face, but the bucket like helm that encircled the small face.
B6 began backing up away from where he heard the sound, Optimus was still far enough into the treeline for B6 to see him in the shadows. So Optimus decided to close the gap.
"Do not be afraid." Optimus said in his calm, yet still powerful, tone, "I won't hurt you." Optimus assured.
B6 still backed up, as the Prime had expected.
"Is that your sparkling?" Optimus asked trying for a response. B6 held Steelspark tightly to his chasis, Optimus decided to stop moving towards him to try and seem less intimidating. B6 stopped as well, the Prime held up his servos, showing he wasn't armed. B6 felt a slight layer of fear leave him.
"W-what do you want?" B6 asked trying to sound..... well not as afraid as he was.
".... I want to know if you need help." he said, choosing his words wisely. B6 tensed.
"I don't need a Prime's help." B6 spoke quick and defensively.
"You have a sparkling with you?" B6 hesitently nodded. "Are you in need of energon?" Optimus asked, B6 shook his helm.
"I said I don't need your help!" B6
"You need the energy, for your sparkling." Optimus offered, B6 looked up at him.
B6 looked into Optimus's optics to try and see any fault in his words, any hint of a lie. But all he saw was pity. But B6 didn't need pity. Especially not from the Autobot's leader.
"I-I don't need it." He lied "I should be leaving." B6 walked away not fully turning his back to him.
"You can't live out here with the sparkling forever. There are not enough energon viens for a growing sparkling." Optimus pleaded. B6 thought for a moment.
"You're the leader of the Autobots, would you not be happy I'm stranded here?" B6 asked cradling Steelspark close.
"I would never wish for someone to be lost. I only wish for the sparklings safety." he said calmly. Optimus looked into the sparklings optics, the sparkling looked back and the big, red optics were ever so bright and full of life. The Sparkling gave Optimus a small chirp and smile, Optimus had seen so many slaughtered youth, seeing one so healthy and happy made his spark swell with hope.
"What is their name?" Optimus asked, still looking into the sparklings optics.
"His name is Steelspark." B6 answered,
"May I ask who's the sire is." Optimus asked knowing the answer, but he needed to confirm it.
"....He's......" B6 couldn't answer, Optimus nodded in understanding, the bucket like helm is all too familiar. Optimus sighed.
"Please, come with me, for your sparkling's sake." Optimus offered, B6 looked to him.
"I can't...." he answered honestly.
"Then for the sake of Steelspark," B6 knew what he was going to say "Let me offer him a home. It may not be any further from this war, but it is safe, warm, and offers him energon." B6 hugged Steelspark tight backing away from the Prime, even Prime knew it would be almost impossible to accomplish this, but he had to protect Steelspark.
