B6 cradled Steelspark defensively. The offer and plea broke B6. He knew he could not truly care for Steelspark, but any carrier wouldn't leave their sparkling alone. The bond was already there, it was already unbreakable. But B6 could choose, Prime gave him that choice.

Suddenly an engine could be heard, not from the ground they walked on, but from the drak, grey clouds above them. Optimus wondered who it was, B6 feared who it was, and Steelspsark whined with the fear radiating from both mechs. As the engine faded gradually B6 made a run for it.

Optimus ran in pursuit, eventually finding the two hiding under a broken tree. Optimus once again heard the engine and saw the familiar grey seeker. Starscream had transformed and landed on both pedes in front of the three. Optimus took a defensive stance in front of the hiding family.

"Well, well, well. What have we here? Optimus, leader of the Autobots, Protecting B6, a Con who holds the sparkling of his master." Starscream chuckled.

"For the sake of Cybertrons future, I will not let you passed myself." Starscreams wings twitched slightly unnerved by the Primes seeming threat.

"Well we'll just see how you both fair when the sire finds out. Now if you'll excuse me I have a daily report to give." And like a coward he transformed and flew off away from the fight, running to his Master like a dog with its tail between its legs.

Optimus's focus was back on B6. He walked up to the shivering mech and held out a servo, not for B6, but for the young one in his care.

"For Your sparkling. For Steelspark. For the furture of Cybertron." Optimus spoke lightly.

If B6 could've cry he'd drown the world, how could a carrier willingly let go of their sparkling? B6 began sobbing, his vocal cords tightened and he almost crushed Steelspark with a hug. Optimus thought how hard it must be to let go of a child. But Optimus couldn't allow himself to let another sparkling die under his watch. B6 hesitantly gave Steelspsark a final big hug and nuzzled their helm together. He handed Steelspark over to the Prime. As soon as he held him in his servos, B6 got on his hands and knees, bowing before the Prime.

"Shoot me...." B6 demanded.

Optimus just sat their shocked. He'd never been asked to execute someone before, let alone be asked that of the bot themselves. B6 explained his request.

"If a carrier can't protect their sparkling, then they're no carrier, and I can't live with that." Optimus stood up and walked but a few steps away.

"PLEASE!" B6 begged, B6 was close to sobbing again.

"I can't do that." Optimus said grimly.

"It's either I'm killed quickly by you, or tortured by Megatron. So please." Optimus shook his helm.

"You don't have to-"

"JUST DO IT FOR PRIMUS SAKE!" B6 screamed causing Steelspsark to cry. B6 began to cry as well.

"J-just... make sure Megatron doesn't get him. Please keep him from the war." Optimus nodded. B6 couldn't bare to look at Steelspsark again, as pain flooded his spark. He ran off and left Optimus alone with the young one crying for his carrier. Steelspark began reaching out for the dissapearing figure of his carrier. Slowly B6's formed was completely covered by the canopy and he was seen no more. Optimus looked down to the sparkling, and wiping a tear from Steelsparks optic whispered.

"And I'll make sure he knows the great sacrifices his loving carrier made for him."
