I called Jayceon and he answered on the third ring, "Yea?"

I sighed knowing he was really about to be done with me, "Can we talk please? It's been a week Jayceon."

"So maybe you know I'm serious. We ain't got shit to discuss if it's about Yazmine."

"You act like I cheated or something Jay."

He chuckled, "But I did right? And you quote on quote fucking hate me right?"

I just looked down making the call go silent, "I didn't mean it and you know that." I said after the long pause. "I couldn't hate you even if I wanted to..."

He paused, "What is Yazmine doing."

"Can you stop fucking talking to me like I'm just your baby mama?" I snapped getting frustrated. "Jayceon I'm sorry okay, can we just talk?"

"I can't ask what my damn daughter is doing?" He snapped back with some bass in his tone.

"You're changing the fucking subject!" I snapped standing up like he was in front of me. "I'm sorry Jay damn."

"yea I know you said that already! In fact you always say sorry but end up doing the same shit." He said when a female voice appeared in the background causing him to hang up quickly.

I stared down at the phone getting my thoughts together as tears filled my eyes. I sat it down on the dresser nicely before walking downstairs to cook lunch for Yazmine.

"Yazmine you want peanut butter and jelly or grilled cheese?"

"Uh grilled cheese. Mommy can Sabrina come over?" She asked making me shrug.

"I'll see if she's back in town okay." She nodded before running back to watch TV. "You okay mommy?"

"I'm fine babe." I said grabbing the butter out the fridge. "Fuck!" I said cutting my finger as I thought about Jayceon and that girl. I threw the knife down running to the sick to put some water on my finger. "Yazmine bring me a band-aid."

5 minutes later her little feet came running downstairs with a band-aid and my phone.

"Who you talking to?"

"Daddy." She replied as she walked away. "Daddy I miss you, when you coming home?"

My lip started to quiver thinking about how my daughter shouldn't even have to say that. I turned the stove on wiping my tears away that fell.

"Mommy misses you to." I heard her say softly. "Daddy she's very sorry, I hear her tell her friends that all the time."

"Yazmine hurry up." I said not be able to take it anymore.

"B-but daddy everybody makes mistakes right? It matters if you learn from it, that's what you tol-...it's not nice to hold grudges daddy." Yazmine little soft voice said while playing with her nails. "Okay, I love you to."
