Cesar texted me and asked if it was okay to bring Olivia, Ruby, and Jamal over. He figured it was time for me to meet them. Which is fine since I literally don't know anyone else but Cesar, Monse, my sister, Oscar, and my abuela. But Oscar hasn't been over since the night we kissed. I really only see him when I go outside and he's on the porch.

With Cesar being here and the whole thing that happened at Monse's house I found out a couple things.

Me and Karla knew about the Santos and Prophets from my parents and abuela always talking about freeridge. It's also no secret that Oscar is a santo, with the tattoos and everything. What I didn't know is that Oscar is the leader of the Santos, and that the Prophets put a green light on him for something that happened after a couple of them got out of prison. I don't know what he did and that's why they rolled up on Cesar, and shot up Monse's house.

"We're here" Cesar said walking in the house dramatically. With Olivia, Ruby, and Jamal right behind him.

"Finally we've been waiting for you guys." Monse says jumping off the couch and hugging Cesar.

"Everyone this is Adalina, Adalina this is Olivia, little guy here is Ruby, and this is Jamal" Cesar says pointing at each of them.

"I can introduce myself, Hi I'm Ruben" he says walking up to me. He turns to Cesar,  "and I'm not little I'm average bitch."

"It's okay Ruby, as you can see" I spun around "I'm 'average' too".

-

"Wait, so you two  telling me you're scared of Oscar?" I said pointing at Jamal and Ruby. They nodded their heads and I started laughing . They both looked at me confused.

"Why is that funny?" Ruby says. "Everytime we see him were in immediate danger." Which made Cesar crack up.

"How can you be friends with his brother who is in the same exact gang and still feel like you're in danger when you're near him? Oscar is harmless okay. I think instead of shitting your pants every time you see him, maybe for once you should try to have an actual conversation with him." I haven't even known Oscar for that long and I know he wouldn't touch a hair on 'Cesars friends'.

"HARMLESS? Harmless..? Oscar is the leader of the Santos. You don't know the shit he did, you didn't hear the same stories we did, because YOU didn't grow up around here. HA" Jamal said pointing at me.

"My abuela grew up in these streets and so did my parents. Oscar raised Cesar, and from what you guys told me all of you practically grew up together and slept over each other's houses right?" They all nodded.

"Which means that one time or another Oscar took care of you guys and he's still taking care of you guys, even if you don't know it. So if my Abuela, and your parents trust him with our life's, don't you atleast owe him the respect of not treating him like some random piece of hood shit every time you're near him? Because my abuela and your parents don't even trust us." No one said anything after I stopped talking.

I looked over at Cesar who was on the verge of crying, he hugged me and said "Thank you for defending him,"

I wrapped my arms around him "Anyone who helps my grandma out is all right in my book." I nudged him getting up and said "Well let's go to the store and get some more snacks."
