I Never Thought It Was You

Chapter 3

Angel POV

"Angel unnie!" The children shouted when I've arrived at the orphanage. I went outside of the car and the children came rushing to me. I hugged them one by one.

"Let's go to the dining hall." I said and they all ran except Steph.

"I wanted to go with you" she said and I smiled. I told Matthew and some staff to bring the food in the dining hall. We went to the dining hall while holding Steph's left hand. All the children are seated and plates are already placed in their table. I helped the staff put a box of pizza in each table.

"Jalmukesimnida!" They said cheerfully and started munching their food. I sat beside Steph who is quietly eating her food.

"Is it good?" I asked and she happily nodded. I chuckled and tapped her head. While the kids are busy eating, I decided to go to mom's office. I saw two quite big boxes outside mom's office. That's a lot.

"Hey, mom. What's with the huge boxes outside?" I asked.

"There's this guy whose been donating a ton of things since the other day. He's quite nice actually." Mom said. I went outside and looked at the things inside those boxes. I saw a teddy bear and took it. It looks like its handmade. There's a name engraved on the necklace at the teddy bear. Why does it look familiar? Strange.

I tried to read what's written on the necklace and my head suddenly ached. My vision got quite blurry. I held on the box for support and held my head. What's going on with me?

"Angel!" I heard someone shouted and I tried to figure out who it is.

"Angel, it's me. What happened?" I heard my brother's voice and I held his shoulder.

"Here." A voice of a lady said and handed me a bottle of water. I took it and drank from it.

"You good now?" Sam oppa asked and I nodded. The lady that gave me the bottle was his wife, Chaeyoung unnie.

"Where did you get that?" Sam oppa asked and pointed at the teddy bear I'm holding.

"I saw it here. Mom said it was a donation from a guy." I said and pointed at the 2 boxes. Sam oppa looked at the inside of the boxes and I can't read the expression of his face. Is there something wrong?

"Where's mom?" He asked and I pointed at the office. He nodded and went to the office. What's with the rush though? Nah nevermind.

"Aunt Angel!" Samantha shouted and ran to me. I immediately carried her and kissed her cheeks.

"You're quite big now" I said and she laughed.

"I'm a big girl now, Auntie. But daddy always says that I'm still a baby" she said and Jessica unnie and I laughed.

"You'll always be our baby girl." Jessica unnie said and pinched her daughter's cheeks. Samantha wriggled from my arms and I put her down. She grabbed my hand and Jessica unnie's hand and led us to the playground where the children are playing.

"Angel!" I looked at the two guys in the entrance of the orphanage. I ran to them and hugged one of them. Gosh I miss these people.

"How's our little sis?" Jackson oppa asked and messed my hair. I glared at him and fixed my hair.

"Where's my hug?" Ben oppa said and I chuckled. I hugged him and he caressed my hair.

Ben oppa and Jackson oppa are my half brothers. Their father was my mom's first husband. But mom bore Sam oppa with her first live before she got married. Their father died because of a heart disease and after that, mom married our father and then I came. Our father died because of a car accident several years ago. It was quite shocking that they don't hold a grudge at us. And I love them for that.

"Is Irene unnie with you?" I asked Jackson oppa. Irene unnie is his girlfriend by the way.

"Looking for me?" Irene unnie came out from the car and I immediately hugged her. She's like my big sister. We all went inside the orphanage and they all placed the gifts they brought in the lobby.

"Angel unnie!" I looked behind me and saw Steph all covered in mud. I rushed to her and she laughed.

"What happened to you?" I asked and she giggled. I told one of the staff to help her clean up.

"New kid?" Jackson oppa asked and I nodded.

"I saw her at the park yesterday. Her mom left her so I brought her here. She seems happy about it." I said and they smiled.

"You really love children. When will you have one?" Ben oppa said and I glared at him.

"Shut up" I said and he just laughed. He went in to Steph and kneeled in front of her.

"You look pretty" Ben oppa said and carressed her hair. Steph giggled at oppa's compliment.

"Steph, these are my brothers." I said and pointed at them. She slowly counted them with her cute fingers.

"3 brothers? That's a lot" she said and we all laughed. Jackson oppa went to her and squeezed her cheeks. Why does he like squeezing cheeks? It must be hard for Irene unnie.

"Should we play?" Ben oppa asked Steph and she happily nodded. He carried her and they went to the playground. Aww they've gotten close already.

"How was Barcelona, oppa?" I asked Jackson oppa. He and Irene unnie went there for a short vacation.

"It was amazing. Too bad you weren't there. I know how much you love traditional architectural buldings." He said and I giggled.

"I wanted to but you know, work" I said and we both laughed.

It was almost 9:30 pm when we all decided to go home. I didn't call Matthew to fetch me since I'll be coming with Ben oppa. He wanted to stay at my house for a while. He lives in a condo unit which is quite far from the orphanage. He usually stays in Japan since he works there.

"I like the new color of your walls" He said as we entered our house. I did change the color a month ago, it was peach but I wanted it white. It looks classy for me.

"Amber unnie, can you fix the guest room? Ben oppa will be staying here for a while." I said and she nodded. We went to the kitchen and took some snacks and went to the movie room.

"Just like the old days" he said as we watched 'Friends'. After an hour and a half, we decided to go to bed.

"Good night, sis" He said and kissed my forehead. I hugged him and went to my bedroom. I changed into my pajamas and did my routine. Thank God it's Friday!

Please don't give up, Angel. Don't close your eyes. Please I can't leave without you.
