Delaney nervously bit on her thumbnail as she stared out the motel room window where a cop car was parked across the street. She pressed the phone to her ear and bounced anxiously until Dean finally picked up. "Dee, there's a cop car outside."
"You think it's for us?"
"I don't know. Sammy doesn't think so, but they've been sat out there for like five minutes now," Delaney explained, relaxing only slightly when Sam stood behind her and squeezed her shoulders assuringly.
"I don't see how, Della. We ditched the plates and the credit cards."
Delaney finally fully relaxed when she saw the cop car drive off down the road. "Oh, they're leaving. False alarm."
