Mina PoV
Days. Weeks. Months.
Months passed by and I didn't say a word to Jaemin. Jaemin had confessed his feelings towards Yerim and they became the power couple of the school. The two people who were the visuals and most famous in our school, began to date.
Everyone supported them except Jeno and Yeseul. Yeseul kept lecturing him at lunch about how he could date a girl like Yerim. I sat from afar, watching them quietly.
I was happy for him. He found another girl that he liked.
I knew he'd get over me. I knew his love would die.
But, my love for him didn't. Each day, I would think about those precious moments we had together. The way he looked at me, the way he smelled, the way his touch could make me feel so light. The day we said our farewells kept playing in my head. I would still search for him the hallways even though I knew that he wasn't going to be there anymore.
Jaemin had been named chairman of his father's company as soon as he turned 18. He was officially an adult. He left the school and finished the last of his studies. We had an entire ceremony for him. He received thousands of gifts and a lot of his friends came to greet to him. I silently dropped off a gift at the pile of gifts. It was a little letter from me and a picture I took of us before. I was kind of hoping he would just mindlessly discard it.
Yerim was left to continue her studies after Jaemin left, but Jaemin would come to pick up Yerim early ocassionally. She would also come to school with designer bags and say they were given to her by Jaemin. Everyone was jealous of her. Well, almost everyone.
Ocassionally, I would meet Jaemin at parties. But, we would greet each other professionally and not talk to each other for the rest of the night.
Yeseul and Jeno were still dating. I figured that they were going to get married. We made a bet about it. I get 100 dollars and I get to go their honeymoon with another friend of my choice. They agreed surprisingly.
My brothers had debuted with a new group. They called themselves SuperM. I went to every one of their performances now. No matter how much shit I had. Because soon, I would be inheriting the company.
Soon, I would be graduating from high school and I would be inheriting the company. I would be going to college on the side. Maybe. Soon, we were all graduating from high school. We would finally become adults and most of us would to get married or go to college or inherit our parent's companies.
Jeno was going to inherit his father's company and nothing was said about Yeseul yet. She was thinking about going to college since her older sister was going to inherit the company. I was happy for her, being able to find herself and go on her own path. Having the time to actually do that, I was jealous of her.
The burden of a company was thrown on my shoulders when I was five years old. From then on, I would study everything that had something to do with business. I needed to have a sharp eye and smart mind just like my father, but a strong and intelligent heart and an understanding soul just like mother. With these qualities, I could be unstoppable.
"Mina." Taeyong said.
I turned my attention to him.
"C'mon. We have to get you ready for your graduation ceremony. It's going to start in a few hours. We need to get you prepped." He said.
I smiled and nodded.
He reached out a hand and I place my hand in his large hand. Together, we headed off to my high school where my graduation ceremony was about to take place. Today was the last day I would go to that place. Then I was off. On my own. In a world so great, so intense and magnificent.
A world I was so ready to take charge of.
