I scampered towards the smell of food, in hopes that I could carry some back to the nest. Something took mother I watcher it while I was hiding, it was huge! It took her somewhere, probably to try to make her breath again. I hope it works.

"Hello?" I squeaked as I rounded a corner. I saw some more mice and went faster but stumbled and fell. "Oh my!" Said one of the mice. "Are you okay? Your so little! Where are you from?" "A hole not far away but my mother died in a rectangular thing, and my brothers and sisters are in the nest." I managed to choke out before I started to sob quietly. "Oh, it was a mouse trap. You should never go near one, even though there's food on it don't go near them ever. I shook my head and drifted off to sleep...

"Wake up. Are you hungry?" asked the she-mouse. "Yes starving actually. But what about my family?" I asked. I forgot! they are probably starving! "It's okay were getting ready to bring some food and things to your nest." "Oh and my name is Thimble." "I don't have a name yet." I said in wonder. What should my name be? "Well what about Jake?" I couldn't refuse a name because I didn't know any other ones. "Okay I think I'll like that name.
