We scurried down the hall as quietly and quickly as we could. "There's a cat in that room." Said Thimble pointing at a room with an opened door. "What's a cat?" I asked feeling confused. "A cat is a big animal that eats and chases everything. So stay away from it, I wouldn't want to see you hurt." I quickly nodded my head in understanding. I watched as Scruff, the other mouse, rounded the corner before us.

Snap!

Was all we heard. Thimble froze in fear, "Sc- Scruff?" I poked my head around the corner and saw Scruff, in a mouse trap, with his head bent in an unnormal position. Thimble slowly walked up to him and touched her nose to his fur. "Oh Scruff!" She wailed, "Please don't leave me here alone!" I suddenly felt hurt, "She's not alone, I'm standing right here!" "But you're not alone I'm right here." She just shook her head and said, "I'll see you again someday Scruff." And sadly started towards my home.
