                                                                      CHRISTOPHER CHIELLINI

"Son, what happened?" My father and Marco sit in front of me as I pace back and forth in the office. "They came out of no-where" I mutter. "She just stood up and started shooting" I throw my hands up in the air. "Ah Christopher, that's what she's been trained to do- exactly like you" "Yes father, I understand that but I am supposed to protect her and how is that going to work if she just doesn't listen!" Marco stands up. "All due respect Christopher, I have trained my daughter the hardest out of all of my children, she can protect herself quite well" I nod. "I understand that Sir, but she is only 23 years old, she should be enjoying her life, being happy, she shouldn't have to worry about this life" I answer him. Marco laughs, "My boy, Amelia trained for 2 years to avenge her mothers death" he pats my shoulder. "She is born and bred to be one of you". He walks out of the door. My father sighs, "You have to apologise son" "For trying to protect her?" I ask my voice raising. "Marco is right, unfortunately Amelia was forced into this life far to young. Your job is to make her happy" I nod. I know he is right, she is just so infuriatingly stubborn. "Your mother is the same, the stubbornest person I have ever met" He re-assures me. "You have no idea."

We walk out of the office to walk straight into the kitchen, "Man" Luca places a hand on my shoulder. "You fucked up" he chuckles patting me on the back. I roll my eyes. "Where is she?" Luca shrugs. "Probably training with Tyler" Leo replies. "I'll walk with you" Luca says. I follow him around the corner. "You have to watch yourself with Mia, she is like a volcano, one little thing can tip her off" he warns. "Noted" I replied. He stops in-front of the door with music blaring out of it. "She's my little sister man, I trust you, but I trust her more. Don't screw her over. That's a warning" I just nod in response. He put's his hand on the door handle "Oh one more thing" I raise my eyebrow. Clearly getting annoyed. I pushed past Luca, to push the door open. The music that was muffled from the walls, engulfed me and i trained my eyes across the room to a treadmill running at the fastest pace I could possibly imagine. The guy, who I assumed was Tyler, was standing on the side of it. Yelling at her to go faster. Her hair was tied into a high pony. Everything was on display, and she was covered in a thick layer of sweat that managed to reflect the sun even more. "OFF, 15 BURPEES, GO" Tyler screamed again. She jumped off the treadmill. And straight into the jumping push up's. A hand goes back on my shoulder. "Told you" Luca's warning circled around my brain. "UP THE ROPE" jumping and running from her push up position, Mia used her upper body and legs to climb up a rope attached the metal bar on the ceiling. It was on her way down when she noticed me standing there and her green eyes tore through me. She jumped onto the floor. Tyler paused the sound. The silence echoing more than the music was. "Can I help you brother?" Mia's question passed by me. Straight through to her older brother. "Nope, absolutely not, Tyler- a word please" Tyler nods. Following Luca out of the room. Shutting the door behind him. She looks back at me, scoffs and puts the music back on. Turning around and getting straight back on the treadmill. I walk my way over to her and place my arms on the opposite side of the treadmills forcing her to look at me. For the pace she was going, she was barely out of breath. And i was impressed, severely impressed. "Can I help you Christopher?" She asks. Increasing her speed, "I wanted to apologise" she laughs. "I shouldn't of doubted you" the smirk on her face disappears. Her eyes shoot past me out the window as her chest starts moving slightly faster. "If I am going to be King of This Empire, that makes you the Queen, and as much as I think you shouldn't be in this kind of world, this is how you were raised and your just as much of a king as I am." I press the slow down option on the treadmill that forces her to slow down until it stops. "What I did was wrong, I'm sorry Mia" she nods. "Okay" she whispers. She steps down from the treadmill and I walk around to reach her. I raise my hand to wipe away the sweat dripping from her forehead. "We'll make this work" I reassure her. "It's just going to take some time." She opens her mouth to respond but I cut her off "I know you didn't want this, but i'll make it worth while. I promise" she remains quiet. But I can basically hear her thoughts bashing around in that beautiful head. I pull the Cartier box out of my pocket. "Now, can you please put this damn ring on because it's burning a 10carat sized hole in my pocket" I tease. I open the box and watch as her eyes widen. I have to force my heart to calm down and try not to get to attached when she smiles back. She takes the box from me. "After i shower" she says and begins to walks away. "Oh" I say and she turns around. "We have a dinner party tonight," I see her eyes roll. "I'll call Cassandra" she says. "Better, why don't you bring her? I'm sure she wont mind" Her eyes light up as she turns on her heel and exits the room. I follow shortly after just to watch her walk away. I have to clench my hands to stop the ache in my fingers to touch her again.
