THE NEXT MORNING

I got up early and took a quick shower and changed into my cheetah uniform and put on my makeup.

I put my wavy hair in a ponytail with my big bow tied on. I walked out to find Maggie ready and sitting next to Kaylee who was also ready in her uniform.

"I missed you Kay" I said hugged her.

"Me too" she laughed and we headed out.

We pulled up to the arena and went in.

"Val!" My friend Gabe yelled. He's on my team.

"Gabe!" I yelled.

"Let's all take pictures together!" Taylor yelled, we nodded and Gabe had me jump on his side. We took pictures till we had to go backstage.

"Okay guys, don't worry too much, take deep breathes, and big smiles!" Our coach yelled.

It was now our turn to go on, I took a deep breathe and smiled as the curtain opened.
We did our thing and ran off stage jumping up and down.

"That went better than I thought!" I said excitedly to Kaylee, she nodded.

"If I could have each team come back on stage so we could announce the winning team, please" the hostess announced, I held Kaylee's and Taylor's hand as we walked out.

We stood there, my heart racing, me taking deep breathes each time, anxious to hear who the winner is.

"And the winner, of the 2014 cheer championships is... THE CHEETAHS!" The announcer yelled. My jaw dropped.

We all began jumping up and down, cheering, and hugging one another.

"Congrats!" Maggie yelled running up to us as I hugged her tightly.

After a few minutes, the room started to clear out and everyone decided to come to my place to celebrate.

My mom, dad, Will, and Skylynn all came to my competition and came to the house with us.

I was happy, but a little upset that Matt couldn't be there to see my performance. That's when I got a text message.

Matt: Great job on your performance babe!!😍👏😉🌚

Me: Wait, what? How did you see my performance? Your in San Diego.

Matt: Babe, open the door.

I was confused everyone was just sitting down laughing, still in our uniforms. My mom had a camera and smiled at me which I returned.

I opened the door and walked a little outside to see Matt standing there, big smile on his face and his hands in his pocket.

My jaw dropped, tears started to form in my eyes and I jumped up and ran inside falling on the floor.

Tears of happiness streamed down my face. Matt walked inside smiling grabbing my waist a pulling me up a little, I automatically jumped into his arms, my legs wrapped around his waist and my arms around his neck.

He laughed and immediately wrapped his arms tightly around my waist and buried his face in the crook of my neck.

"I missed you babe!" He said.

"I missed you even more" I cried. He looked at me and for for the first time in 8 months, I got to stare into his beautiful light brown eyes that always made me melt.

He began leaning in, then stopped for a minutes. Then he smashed his lips against mine making me immediately kiss back.

"I've been missing your kisses for 8 months" he said smiling, which made me laugh.
