I woke up at dawn, like I did daily, with my trunk almost empty with my few clothes, a hat, and my old worn- out converse. I walked through the woods, or the "Forbidden forest" as Dumbledore called it. I rolled my trunk across the forest, Scriver flying beside me, and Entimago walking close to me. I smiled at 2 of my only friends. We walked in silence, until we had to pass the dreaded part of our journey to Hagrid's. Spiders. Luckily, it was morning so only a few were out, yet it still scared me. I quickly jogged past the part until one fell on Scriver, causing him to screech and attract more that frankly didn't look very happy. I grew terrified, to the point of being stunned. 'Stupid Arachniphobia.' I thought as a voice called,"Who goes there?!" I turned to see a Giant.... Arachnid and nearly fainted. I shook with fear and said my name, broadly. "G- Grace P- Potter." "Potter?" He said. "Y- Yes." I nodded. "As in a Potter?" He said. I sighed in reply. "Yes. It seems I'm the forgotten one." My fear quickly drained out of me for the most part, minus the shaking. "Why are you shaking, child?" "I- I.... Um.... I'm kinda a- afraid o- of y- ou...." I said my mouth becoming dry. "Hmmm.... Fine then, just answer me this, why are you hear?" "I needed to see Hagrid.... I live not too far from here...." He smiled lightly, or what I think was a smile. "Fine then, pass on." With that he left and I sped out Entimago running as fast as me, and Scriver soaring above us. We finally came across the Half- Giant's house. I reached a hand to the door knocking, while I fumbled for my letter to Hogwarts. I knocked once again growing rather impatient. "Hagrid!" "Hol' on I'm comin'" Hagrid said from the other end of the door. I felt his footsteps as he Came near the door. "Grace!" He said happily. "Hello, Hagrid!" "Wh't 're you doin' 'ere?" He said letting me in, and tending to Scriver. I smiled brighter. "I got in!!!" I said. "R'lly?" I nodded giving him the letter verifying that I am indeed a witch at Hogwarts. "Grace that's wonderful!" "Aye, it is." I said, my thick Scottish accent clearly showing. "But," my smile began to fade. "I don't have the necessary money for books, so I was hoping you may 'ave spare ones 'round 'ere." He smiled again. "'Course!" He rummaged through a slightly big chest filled with books and handed me everything." There. Now we just got'a get ye a wan' and a robe." I smiled, "Thanks, Haggy!!" He chuckled at my nickname for him.
Hagrid was my best friend, believe it or not. Actually, he was my only human friend, or half human for that matter. Point is Hagrid's been taking care of me since I was little and lost. The day he found Harry, he found me and instantly saw the resemblance between us. Olive skin, striking green eyes, and the unmistakable need for our glasses. Ever since then he took me to live with him in the woods, only about a year ago I moved out managing with Scriver and Entimago. "Com' on we'll go to out to Diagon Alley I'll tell Harry 'bout the missin' mon'y." I frowned at the mention of mybrother's name. He had been going to Hogwarts for 1 year now, Dumbledore only knows where he is now. Either way, the mention of Harry made me sad for two reasons: 1) His home may not have been great, but I was left living in the woods all my life. 2) he's always had an amazing life. Especially since he moved here. Hagrid would always tell me stories of him and his friends he sounded so happy with actual people, and here I am friends with two animals and Hagrid. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Hagrid to pieces, but sometimes I did wish I wished I had kids around my age to play with, even if I'm only 13. Hagrid sighed catching my drift. "Gracie, I kn'w yer sad. But, he's yer brot'er we'ter he like it Er not. Besides, yer just jealous." I cringed at the word. " i know. Now are we goin' to Diagon or not, old bud?" I said grabbing his hand and placing Scriver on the floor with Entamigo. "Sure, Grace." I laughed a bit pulling him towards the fireplace, I know I just found out I was a wizard yesterday, but I've been traveling this way since I first came to Hagrid's. to me it's the best way to travel!! I brightly skipped over to the fireplace throwing the 'dust' in. I stepped back a bit said "Diagon Alley." And walked in.When I appeared on the other side, I was in a shop, beautiful wouldnt quite describe the place, but unique would. The sight was odd. There were wands everywhere some withered, others in grand conditions. I suppose I do need a wand so why not start here? I stepped to the side waiting for Hagrid to appear. As he did I grabbed his arm skipping towards the front of the shop to pick out a wand. "Oi! 'Ows it goin', Olivander."
"Jolly good Hagrid, who may that be?" He said reffering to me as I popped up next to Hagrid. "Ah, t'is is, Grace." "Hello, you're lookin for a wand I suppose?" "Yes." I said. "Follow me then." He showed me towards columns filled win wands. Some tall some short, wide and thin. Some withered and tattered, others looked as if they were put together by perfection. The wands were all magnificent. As I thought of this Olivander rummaged around trying to find a wand that was fit for me. I sighed in pleasure and grace. Haha. Grace. Any ways, he gave me assorted wands none felt right until we closed in on one in particular this wand, as he stated, 'was peculiar and only two people in existence had a wand like this.' He looked at me and his face was grown with shock. I smirked a bit. "U- Um.... W- What is your full name." He said struggling to find his words. I stood up tall and proud and said,"Grace.... Elizabeth.....---"Potter...."
