Dear Diary,

So, it's been about two days since my last entry, and only a bit has happened but hey, close enough, right? I decided I may as well write all that's happened so far before something crazy happens and I stay here, writing by my fireplace for two hours in one day.

Anyways, so I've recruited an officer to help me. I told him that I plan to do more than I'm supposed to, and he swore that he wouldn't tell. Partly because I'm in a high enough position to get him demoted, so it's not like he had much of a choice, if I'm being honest. But yeah, his name's Alex Jenns. He's a pretty new officer, so honestly, I just think he was thrilled to have the opportunity to work on a murder case so soon.

What have we found out? Not much, really. We talked to tons of 'witnesses', and most of them turned out to be either fake or delusional. However, we did get an important hint; the killer is female. One of the witnesses, who was actually attacked(we found traces of oleanders in her digestive system to prove this), told us that her roommate was in a different room at the time and called the cops. The witness and roommate both heard the killer cuss when the police cars came into view and ran off. We tried to see if she left any DNA behind when she ran off, but never did. Officer Jenns confirmed that the phone call happened, as he was on one of the cars that headed over and confirmed everything they claimed. So we at least know the killer's gender now.

We also know that the killer is an adult, based on the description of her voice. It was already a guess, anyways. What child would have access to enough oleander flowers to kill dozens of people?

I actually did get access to one of the victims autopsy reports, though. It describes the victim's state after the body was found. They couldn't get an exact time of death, though, just a time range due to how long it took them to find her. The victim, Allie Hoffman, was a 17-year-old female. She was planning to go to college for law after graduating high school so that she could become a prosecutor once she got all the education that was required. Anyways, I decided to write out the important parts of the report, so the next paragraph may be a bit long.

So, in the report, it stated how her body was found, although I may take a look at her body when I go to work tomorrow so I can give a more detailed description. The details aren't that clear in this autopsy report. Another bit of information; her eyes were carved out. I'm just realizing that all the victims tend to have their eyes carved out. I wonder why the murderer decided to do that. She's also one of the few victims to have the quote carved onto her body, and the autopsy says that it wasn't actually carved that deep. More like it's just deep enough to where it would scar if Allie had survived. It also appears that Allie had some bruises, but I'll check that out again. The pathologist who wrote this autopsy wasn't very descriptive and should get demoted or trained better, to be honest. Damn. Apparently, it was night when the murder occured. Around three or four in the morning.

But like I said, the description wasn't very detailed. The pathologist who wrote this, Alex Baker, needs to be more descriptive. Anyways, back to what I mentioned earlier, Officer Jenns and I will be investigating the body tomorrow, so I'll be sure to write about that once I get back from that tomorrow. We'll be checking it out before school tomorrow. Hopefully I'll stumble upon some DNA or something that the others missed out on. And if I can, I'll try and see if there's a pattern between the victims. Maybe I can act differently to get targeted and learn the identity of this killer. Until next time.

Sincerely,

Calvin
