"Right, remember what we said. Don't speak to anyone unless absolutely necessary. Just, try and act normal. Do what everyone else is doing. If we do that then with a bit of luck, we'll get inside." Hermione told us.
She gave each of us Polyjuice potion after adding the hair of the four ministry workers we knocked out to impersonate.
We were sneaking into the ministry in order to get the locket from Umbridge. If someone had told me before that I would be breaking into the ministry, I never would have believed it.
"This is completely mental." Harry said, shaking his head.
"Completely." Me and Hermione agreed.
"The worlds mental." Ron said bitterly. "Come on, we've got a Horcrux to find."
We looked at each other before all downing the vile tasting potion. I gagged, choking and after swallowing the last of it, I looked at my hands, seeing my skin bubble and start molding into the body of Doris Higgs.
I stared down at my hands, well Doris' hands, and reached it up to my, Doris', face. Her nose was quite big, her lips were thin, her black hair fell just past her shoulders; it was completely different. It was weird looking like somebody else. It was also weird wearing someone else's clothes.
I gave one last look at the passed-out Ministry workers and laughed quietly to myself. Bet they weren't expecting this when they woke up this morning.
We walked silently into the toilets and queued, and the fact that we had to flush ourselves in the toilet was so disgusting, it made me want to puke. When it was my turn, I locked the cubicle door and grimaced as I lifted up my feet to stand in the toilet bowl.
"This is so gross." I whined and flushed the toilet.
Once I was inside the Ministry I tried to blend in as much as possible, while looking around and noticing just how many guards there were, and how many WANTED posters there were with mine and my brothers face on them.
I walked towards Hermione in Mafalda Hopkirks body, who was staring sadly at statue of people trapped in between a wall.
"Are those-?" Harry asked following beside me.
"Muggles. In their...rightful place." Hermione said bitterly.
"Gotta tell you, I'm starting to freak out a bit." Ron said quietly as he approached us.
"How long do we have before the Polyjuice potion wears off Mione?" I questioned, weary of the time. The last thing I wanted was to change back into myself and have everyone chasing me.
"Um, I don't know." She replied nervously.
"Amazing. Fucking brilliant." I groaned.
"Let's not waste time." Harry said and he grabbed my arm, leading us all towards the lift.
"Cattermole." A harsh voice growled, and the lift doors were pushed open to reveal Yaxley. I held my breath and tried to look at anything but him as he focused on Ron. "It's still raining in my office. That's two days now."
"Have you tried an umbrella?" Ron joked nervously and I mentally face palmed at his stupidity.
Yaxley let out a breathy laugh. "You do realise I'm going downstairs, don't you, Cattermole?"
"Downstairs?"
"To interrogate your wife. Now, if my wife's blood status were in doubt, and the head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement needed a job doing, I think I might just make that a priority. You have one hour."
