Twenty Nine

Saturday - 9:41 am

"I'm gonna miss you." I say, hugging Ruel.

"I'll miss you too." He responds.

We were saying our goodbyes at my house. I couldn't see them off at the airport due to a prior commitment. One that I now really regret agreeing to.

"Ruel, we need to go." Kate approaches us, an almost sad expression painted on her face.

Ruel looks back to me.

"I really don't want to leave you." He murmurs, embracing me again. "What if we never see each other again?"

"We can always face time."

"But I'll be busy, and when you move you'll also be busy. We'll never have time to talk."

"I'm sure we will have time."

"Ruel, lets go."

We let go of each other, the boy heading to the door.

"Don't forget about me." He says sadly.

I smile. "I could never forget you."
