FREEDOM TO Be Yourself

"America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves", was a quote from Abraham Lincoln.

My question is, how can we not destroy ourselves if so many people talk bad about others nowadays?

If people can't be themselves and not have to hide behind a mask, then what is the meaning of freedom?

Many people hide behind a device because they're scared of what people would think of them.

People don't take in consideration of what that person might be going through, and instead call them "stupid", "weird", and so many other horrible names.

You'd be surprised how many people get bullied, right under your nose.

Most people get scared to be themselves because they think they aren't good enough and so they have to act like someone they're not just to impress people.

Some people wear makeup to feel more confident, but others say it makes them uglier.

Imagine if you were a kid, in need of support, and all you got was horrible names tossed at you, or you got left out of a group activity just because you weren't like everybody else.

For me, being different from everyone, makes you special, in a good way.

So why can't people be themselves?

Well there are a good amount of amazing people, but there are also people who will bring you down emotionally and maybe even physically.

"Freedom - to walk free and own no superior" Walt Whitman.

If we truly have the right to walk free, then why can't people just let you express yourself?

Why does bullying have to be a thing that is still going on?

"There are no strangers here; Only friends you haven't yet met" William Butler Yeats.

So, if everyone is a potential friend, then maybe you should get to know that one weird kid.

Maybe you'll grow to become the best of friends.

Don't judge someone if you haven't even taken the chance to get to know them.

What I learned over the years, is that NO MATTER what anyone says to you, be yourself and that's all you need to be the best you.

Only you can decide what is the right look for yourself, so don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

Only you can decide who YOU ARE.

Only you can decide what YOU WANT TO BE.

Only you can decide who YOU WANT TO BE.

And know that you are loved.
