Y/n POV
It was a cold autumn night. I look down at my feet, the dim light radiating off of the small puddles on the harsh, gravel ground. A small, yet fierce thunderstorm roared just moments before I made my way out of my house.
I walked down the all too familiar backroads, with a hot Vegas breeze following. I wandered to Boris, my best friend, my boyfriends home. The thoughts of the constant fighting between my parents and anxiety in my mind urging me to scream, but I didn't. I turned towards the window to his room, and tried to pry it open..it was locked.
Luckily, I keep a lock picking kit along with me when I am out of the house..just in case. I picked the lock, and opened the window. I climbed in, and allowed myself to drop into the dark room, to see a body, turned over to the side, away from the window. I knew it was Boris.
I took off my shoes, took off my damp sweater, and changed into a larger set of clothing, stolen me from him. I shuffled into the warm bed and closed my eyes.
About a few minutes later, I felt movement in the bed. I felt Boris turn over and drape his arm over my waist. Then, a sudden change of position.
Boris shot up, frightened. I looked over at the curly headed mess of the boy, then to a near by lamp, and flipped the switch.
"How did you get in?" His thick, raspy Russian accent booming. "Picked the lock and snuck in." I stated with pride. Boris just looked at me confused. "You snuck in?" "Hey I learned it from the best!" I chuckled. "Damn right."
Boris laid back down and motioned me to move in closer. He gently held my shoulders close as I buried my head into his bare chest. "What is wrong?" Boris questioned. "My parents...they were fighting again. I couldn't take it so I came here. Sorry about the inconvenience." I apologized
"No need for apologies. You're welcome anytime. No matter what circumstances." Boris sympathized.
I smiled.
I closed my eyes again. I heard the voices shout once more.
"IM TIRED OF YOU TRYING TO TAKE THE FREEDOM OF ME AND THE KIDS!"
"TAKING FREEDOM?! SINCE THE F*CK WHEN DID I TAKE YOUR GODDAMN FREEDOM?!"
"YOU DONT LET US DO ANYTHING! EVERYTHING IS ALWAYS YOUR WAY!"
An overwhelming sensation flowed through my body..I let a lone tear fall from my face.
Somehow, Boris noticed the droplet fall, and turned to me. "Malyshka, what do you have to fear?"
I looked up, and wiped the tear away. "Do you remember when you would over hear your mother and father fight?" I asked.
I knew this would be difficult on Boris, due to his mother's death.
"Yes. All the time....we're yours fighting?"
I nodded. "Boris, I want to run away. I feel like, I don't know, trapped..in this never ending cycle of despair. Like I cannot ever win."
"That's one way to put it." Boris said.
I laughed at the small comment. "Yeah."
"But yes Malyshka..I do understand. And I'm here. I will always be here for you...don't worry. It will be ok."
"I hope.."
